I didnt agree to whole season I ahve an avy bet with TM for the texas-Wyoming game but told him Id have to do it week 2 since I thought ours was a week but we'll figure it out. I hope the Huskers win frankly, I like for B10 etams to do well when theya rent playing Iowa. I just think this game is going to be close, I could be wrong but we'll see.

Not basing it off last year. Im basing it off the fact they have a great OL, and really good running backs, a good DL and a solid secondary. They return 10 of their best 12 players from last years team. Only thing that concerns me with the Eagles is the QB situation but from all accounts the have 3 capable guys that bring different things to the table. Nebraska is a solid team but they lost the haart and soul of their defense ( which wasnt even that great last year), they have a QB that has regressed since stepping on campus and questions on the OL. I have no faith in Martinez if he is forced to throw and Burkhead is a stud but USM is solid at stopping the run and struggles vs the pass in LB coverage, unfortunately the Huskers dont really have anyone capable of exploiting that struggle since their TE's arent very good.

anyone heard of Kyler Reed? he played hurt last year and had a decent year. as a sophomore he set the record for touchdowns by a tight end. Southern Miss has no one that can match up against him because he's 6'3" 230 and can fly.

There will be marked improvement in the defense this year. I'd bet my life on it. 7 starting seniors and a crop of young talent like this team hasn't seen in a loooong time.

Martinez spent all summer w/ a highly regarded quarterback coach in california and attended the manning passing camp. They won't need to throw much anyway to beat USM. They will be a whole lot smaller in the trenches, Nebraska will bully them at the LOS. That is a fact.

And many consider Nebraskas TE duo of Cotton and Reed to be the best in the country.

Reed is a burner. He's probably the most athletic TE in the conference.

I love your team loyalty Brasky and would expect nothing less from the great Husker fans and you may even be right but Im not sold on alot of what you wrote there especially when it comes to Nebraska. Just read the report on the USM back so that may change things a bit but we'll see.
