Shanahan presses the outside and requires the RBs to stay outside as long as possible
Different than the old TD cut backs

That was a pretty good game. Great comeback. I was rooting for the Falcons, but a good game is a good game and it's hard not to appreciate something like that.

Never should have called a pass play to begin with. A field goal all but secures victory. So penalty, turnover, or sack are the only things that can ruin that chance. Well they had a sack and then a penalty. Should have ran that football when they were averaging like 5.8 yards per carry at that point. Even if you don't pick up anything you melt the clock and keep yourself in field goal range for your pro bowl kicker.

Shanahan had zero situational awareness. What a epic collapse by the OC of the year and the Offensive player of the year.

Yup that entire 2nd half I'm not sure what they were doing. Almost like they panicked that they were up by that much and just lost their minds.

I mean the 2 focuses of the 2nd half should have been run the football (which they were having great success with) and not turn the ball over. Pretty simple football 101 type stuff there when you are up so much yet they choose to do the exact opposite.

Also the Falcons after getting up 28-3 ran several plays (i counted 6 after re watching the condensed version) with 10-15 seconds left on the play clock. Had they had the foresight to take the clock down to 1-2 seconds, how many seconds do they leave Brady if they scored with 57 seconds left. Simple stuff ATL could control.

All I can say after watching that second half is that I'm glad we didn't hire Shanahan as our HC. Boneheaded play calling, IMO.

As much as I want to say Atlanta you blew it, and I can't stand that the Patriots came back and won............The NE Patriots are the most amazing, great, bestest team ever and they really make me realize how much I admire my true dislike for that lucky, cheatin mother fucking , winning bastards,

Another thing that had me baffled in 2nd half was they ( Atlanta ) were snapping the ball with like 15 seconds left on play clock ! I was like " why are they not sucking up the clock ? "

That is the biggest issue for teams like Atlanta that have lived by playing fast the entire year. When they are actually asked to slow things down they really do struggle. And yeah we saw that with the clock management. I mean just about everybody has to be screaming at the tv for them to use more time and nope lets snap it with 15 seconds left. I mean just 4 plays in the 2nd half of waiting 15 more seconds and they win that game.

So many bad decisions by the Falcons in that game.

Patriots are 5:1 favorites to repeat next year.

Cowboys are second.

Broncos are 16:1

Wouldn't that be something................Brady gets a 6th ring at age 40?

Not going to happen. Denver rebounds and wins our 4th title next year. The Broncos D turns Brady into their personal pinata twice as the Broncos sweep them.

Or maybe that is just a dream.

In addition to being a Bronco fan, I consider myself a fan of the game ... I love the rivalries, the NFL Films songs, pretty much everything about the game itself ..

( cue up the NFL films soundtrack )

With that said, it has been a pleasure to watch Tom Brady - he has been all-time great in his performances, and cemented his place at the top, in that QB pantheon ..

When he retires, his presence in the league will be missed -
