No body should be too high or too low in October. The playoffs are 6 to 7 months away. I do think the Lakers are capable to make the playoffs, regardless is they won or lost last night.

Lets stay grounded

Lakers have former 1st round draft picks all over the court who can play in this system & are young & athletic they will only get better if they stay healthy.

I don't know if you follow this team like we do here in LA but one thing is for sure this is a close locker room & these young guys love each other day in & day out. They had a good training camp & Pre season...trust me i know i've been following them closely.

This team can cause alot of havoc. You saw it last night Clippers got punched right in the mouth & That look on Doc'c face at the end of the game was priceless.

Not denying it, punchline. But if that IS the case it'd have to be a season with more than 35 wins in the wear, right or wrong...?

Yeah it all depends on when Kobe comes back...I always said they would be around 41-43 wins

That win was fool's gold (and purple) and you know it. Everybody will be rounding into season form around mid-Decemberish. Get ready for reality to set in, boys. Word.

Translation = :bawling: The Lakers aren't going suck for 2+ decades like the Celtics!!:bawling:

Why would I not want G.S. to lose?
I honestly don't think they have a chance at the 1 seed, but injuries happen. You never know.

And as far as the 0-2, of course I thought you would lose last night as most people did.
That certainly doesn't mean I am not happy I was wrong.

And if you really think about, YOU also thought they would start 0-2 because I offered you 4-1 to step up to the plate and believe in your teams chances and you didn't.

Lol, whatever you say. This is SO sad and :lame:

You KNOW why won't bet with you, but DO keep trying to flip this around. Funny stuff...

If the Lakers would've lost last night you'd've been all over it like a butt ugly buzzard on a dead field rat. Don't know who you're trying to bullshit...

"This only helps the Heat". Lmfao...:laugh3:

I told you I'm not going to bicker with you like a little girl any more.
If you choose to continue, well....that's your choice.
Its a new season, it you want to discuss games, take a few barbs, whatever. Fine. It not. I'll live.

As far as the bets. Lame excuse, but again, whatever. I offered you 4-1 and I would be posting your avi right now had you believed in your team enough to take it.
I'll offer you the same bet now for the next 2 games. I say you lose the next 2. 7 days vs 28.
Do you believe the Lakers can beat the Warriors/Spurs or not?

I would have been all over a Laker loss? Right. Why? Lakers aren't anywhere on Heat radar except for 2 games this year.

I want what's best for the Heat ONLY and that means any elite WC team losing to anyone is great news to me.
Just because you wanted teams in front of the Lakers (when they were involved in a playoff chase) to win vs
the Heat last year is more of a reflection of your mindset, certainly not mine.
Showed you dislike the Heat more then you like the Lakers:noidea:

I know it's only one game, but the Clippers better figure out how to get some things done in the post. They have nothing inside. Jordan has no low post moves and Griffin can barely do anything down there. Griffin doesn't look like he added much to his game during the off-season. He still can't shoot a free throw.

Let's quit with the 'laid an egg/no effort' excuses. The Clippers were up starting the fourth quarter and looked like they were trying to me.

Forget it, junior. You've already PROVEN you don't pay up. That's NOT an excuse, it's a FACT...

DO look up the meaning of that word...

I would have been all over a Laker loss? Right. Why? Lakers aren't anywhere on Heat radar except for 2 games this year.

Because you a scum sucking TROLL, that's why. All you've ever done is try to flip attention of posters away from the Heat, and onto the Lakers. Lol it doesn't take a genius to see it, you've been doing the same thing for YEARS...

NOPE, not at all. What I've shown is my disgust for the arrogance of one organization. Lol, seems you and fools like you don't seem to understand. The 2(fan ship of team vs. Observer of the GAME) aren't that hard to seperate. Just idiots like YOU simply wanting to slap on a label and wanting to generalize. HARDLY a "me" issue...

Who knows? One day a clue might seep into your tiny little mind, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope of THAT happening...:laugh3:

I think D'Antoni nailed it on the head in an interview I read from last night. He said that the Lakers have about 7-9 "question marks" on the team and if they hit on 5 of them, they'll have a really good season.

The Lakers have about 4 or 5 former 1st round/lottery picks who haven't panned out on other teams that are getting an opportunity. If they play to their originally projected levels, the Lakers might have something.

I'd assume the other question marks are around the health of the "old guys".

Not saying they're going to win anything or even necessarily make the playoffs, but we truly don't know what the Lakers really have outside of some young, athletic guys who appear willing to play hard every night and learn from the experienced guys on the team like Kobe, Nash and Pau.

Jordan is not the problem...Blake is.

Jordan was never expected to be a superstar. He did his part last night by providing 17,11, and 3.

Jordan is part of the problem. He's a big that is useless in the post and he certainly can't stretch the floor with his jumpshot.

I agree to a point. Jordan was never expected to be a superstar like Blake, but neither have greatly improved their games and they are both disasters on the free throw line. I saw no improvement in Blake, which is odd because all pre-season they were saying he had added the ability to hit the 18-20 foot shot. Maybe it was a bad night for him, but he looked bad on the few that he took last night.

There is also the very real possibility that the Lakers are a bad matchup for the Clippers (and maybe a few other teams) now. The Lakers can essesntially play 2 completely different styles because of their roster.

They can go big and play the half court/pick and roll game or they can go small and play the way that D'Antoni's Suns teams played. We saw that last night as the Lakers kept changing the tempo on on the Clippers before they finally blew it open in the 4th quarter with the small lineup.

It takes even the best coaches time to familiarize themselves with players theyhaven't worked with before and for the players to familiarize themselves with him and his ways of doing things. So there will certainly be a transition period, during which the team will have problems.

If the 2nd half of your season isn't better than the 1st half you may have reason to gripe, but don't expect immediate improvement. Sports, and not just basketball, doesn't work that way.

Well, this team won 47 games with a supposedly "much more talented" roster. If we can do about the same with this group I'd say that's acceptable results...

You know what it was last night....the Clippers BIGGEST advantage over us was Chris Paul. Chris Paul was always a Laker killer going back to his days as a hornet. He picked on Fisher and Nash, and also his signature play was to get Pau on a pick, back up and take him one on one. Well last night, Farmar was the complete opposite of Fisher and Nash being young and athletic on defense, and also he ran back to Paul everytime off the pick instead of leaving Pau on an island. Maybe that caught CP3 off guard for just the 1 game. Anyways, it was nice to see a bunch of young guys with no agendas, just flat out giving effort. Understanding our situation this year, that's all I want.

Farmar ran circles all over Cp3 like taking candy from a kid...it was hilarious too watch :10:
