I read all of the pre-NFL draft rumors that the Rams were allegedly going to trade Bradford, which didn't happen. And maybe was not going to happen. Read some of the reviews on Sam for 2014 and some "experts" paint a terrible outlook for him. Some come right out and say that the Rams need to move on from him.

According to consensus rankings, he's the 25th ranked QB. Some have him as high as 15. Others have him as low as 31. (Really? 31?)

My view was that Bradford was making steady and consistent improvement until he got hurt. He played in only 7 games last year, but threw a TD in EVERY game. In fact, he averaged a solid 2 TD per game last year. (Only Peyton, Brees, Rivers, Foles and Dalton accomplished that average, or better.)

Am I missing something? Am I blinded by this lone statistic? Why are so many experts down on him?

He's never shown me anything, Joe. I don't think he's 31, but I don't think he's 15 either.

I never really thought he'd be all that great, and even I think he's been a disappointment. I think he's been overrated ever since leaving Oklahoma, and just is what he was. It's my belief that he wasn't traded on Draft day, becuase no one was interested. Was that because the asking price was to high? Or because he isn't worth a damn? I'd say a little of both. But I'd bet a paycheck that if anyone had offered a deal that the Rams could accept and not get slaughtered in the press, he'd have been gone.

He's adequate at best, but like TKO said. . Better than #31. I'd put him somewhere in the mid 20's

I think the Rams can win with Bradford as a game manager. He is good enough to be Alex Smith or Trent Dilfer, but I don't think that makes him more than a streamer play as a fantasy option.

Joe - he'd be a different man with Marshall and Jeffery to throw to. He's never had what I would consider a go to guy or above average receiving crew. What he has is mediocre at best - - thus so is he.
He's just not good enough to make receiver 'better' than they are like Peyton, Brady and Brees.
So, average gets you average. .....

If you do draft Bradford (or more importantly Stacy), watch who is on his offensive line and healthy.

If you're seeing Bradford healthy with Jake Long, Greg Robinson, Scott Wells, Saffold and Barksdale, the offense should be pretty good depending on matchups and Bradford might be an attractive QB2. Tavon Austin is in Year 2 and might have a handful of breakout games next year. Cook is a legit target and might have monster games against Arizona next year now that Washington is out.

Bradford probably isnt worth drafting in a 10 team league but you should definitely look at him if the matchups break right.

^^^^^ AGree... Disappointing tho. Sam was suppost to be an accurate passer with an above average arm who could move the ball in a pass happy offense. ALot has changed since 2010. His weapons and O-line have never been anything better than average tho... As a Rams fan i just hope if Sam gets hurt again this year or has another medicore season they move on from him!!! Make or break season for Mr. Bradford

I'll kick in my 2 cents on Bradford.
been super disappointed to date, but have seen the flashes of why the Rams wanted him to be their franchise QB.
I personally thought that although he wasn't really fast, he would be quick enough inside the pocket to make the throws. Not sure I can say that we've seen that yet.
But don't discount the Rams' draft strategy at WR since Bradford has been here - using mid-round picks on WRs from mid-major conferences. Talk about playing the lottery and taking chances. Couple that with the injuries, and you don't get a recipe for QB success.

going forward - I think Bradford could easily be a top half QB, probably ending up in the 13-18th overall range, and I'd put his floor around 20-22. If he's healthy, he'll be better than at least 10 other QBs in the NFL, regardless of the supporting cast.

my personal prediction - he has an 'OK' season this year, signs somewhere else as a backup and becomes their starter before he turns 31yrs old.

No matter what, still don't see him being more than a QB2 for fantasy purposes.

Yes, you're being blinded by that lone statistic.

Even with that stat, pro-rating FF points for QBs last year, he was tied at #10 with Stafford. In 2012 he was #18. I think the team around him is quietly getting stronger, but I don't think he can sustain a full-season top 10. (He was ahead of Kaep, RGIII, Wilson, Brady, Ryan and Romo in FF PPG last year, and it's hard to imagine most of those guys won't catch him this year.) I think he'll end up somewhere between #12 and #20 if healthy - a respectable QB2 who won't make or break your team.

But since he's missed almost a quarter of his starts in his career, why bother? Tannehill or Palmer or Flacco are just as appealing and are better at staying on the field.
