Agreed, It makes it more competitive while also giving the teams that deserve it better chances. You can't afford bad games in this sport, but in baseball and basketball it's easier to get by if you struggle at times.

The part that really sucked was that we had a 10 game lead at the break. Then do you remember how we had the Dodgers for 4 straight to end the season? Them damn Braves would not lose. We won the first 3 in L.A., then when Piazza hit that jack early in that last one I knew it was over.
Why did you guys have to bring me back to that? I just got over that season in 2010.

ain't too bad in baseball cause its 10 teams total making the play-offs. the NLF is already at 12 teams.

What really sucked and what was inexcusable was letting Solomon Torres start that last game. There was way too much pressure on a rookie for that and it showed. My choice would have been Scott Sorenson who, though not the greatest pitcher, was well rested and had the veteran experience to handle that game better. One of the biggest mistakes the Giants made in San Francisco. All wiped out though, as you said, by the incredible 2010 season.
