Guess that would take safety off of the must draft list.

WR, OT, G, ILB

Are we in agreement gents?? And no not in that order per say.

I say no we don't take S off the list but push the need down the list a little bit.

34 year old safety is a stop gap . depending on the price it is a decent move but safety is still a need

however it means we dont have to reach for one

Got to disagree dude. We resigned Merriweather, and just signed clark. We have Rambo, gumbs and Thomas on roster. thats 5. If we draft a safety... who doesnt make roster?? We got two vets who will likely start. We have young guys we need to figure out. Drafting a safety now would just muddy the waters.

I agree its a one year stopgap move. But we also have 3 young saftys on roster. So if Merriweather and Clark are on roster, and the three young guys are there, where exactly do we fit a 6th safety?? Clark gives them a guy who can start the season while they figure out what we really have in our youth.

ESPN 980 @ESPNRadio980
.@Russellmania980 & @ESPNRadio980 has learned via multiple #NFL sources that FS Ryan Clark has agreed to terms with the #Redskins.

if a prior or ward falls to us you take him .

that being said i think safety just went down the needs list

Agreed. If a first round talent is there you take him. Provided there isnt also a first round talent at say OT, WR, ILB or maybe even CB sitting there. Slowly but surely they are making it where we can really draft for talent, not immediate need.

per espn 980

yes I think Ryan Clark is a stop gap that should provide great veteran leadership. Now I think top need is RT and rangy free saftey would be second need in the draft. Then ILB and obviously speedy WR is going to remain a need unless we sign Jackson.

If we sign Jackson I would attack the draft like this:

2nd RT
3rd FS
4th ILB
5th NT

Oviously if one of these position has a player that falls to you on your board in a higher round you could take the player there, but the largest need would become RT.

Well we'will'not'get djax now

You are kidding right?? Has been mentioned that if you are thinking of bringing in Jackson, signing Clark makes sense from a leadership standpoint.

Think we will know on Jackson by this time tomorrow.
