What got this started? They were talking about it on 104.5 The Zone earlier.

The callers I heard had no interest and neither do I.

If by future picks, they mean the Titans 1st rounder in 2016 and 2017 as well.....

It is going to be damn interesting to see if the Titan's can successfully leverage Mariota in the #2 pick into a trade down package.

I would have said no a month ago. But all this talk has me curious now.

But I would still be pretty surprised. Mariota just isn't this good of a QB prospect where a team should be willing to pay the price to get all the way up to #2 IMO.

This post.

Every word of it.

It's nearly impossible to fuck this pick up but the Titans can find a way.

If this happens my faith in Pete/John would be seriously de-railed. Course I could be wrong about Mariota much like I was wrong about Wilson, but just not seeing it. I think Mariota will fail and Wilson despite not being elite is easily above average franchise material.

That said, just don't see it. At this point I feel like every team is being mentioned.

Maybe Seattle will just keep taking 3rd round picks though and letting all the QBs walk lol. That would be an NFL history first. A perma Trent Dilfer (although Wilson is better than Dilfer was) team. If they take Grayson, Hundley, or Petty maybe we'll have that answer lol. They do of course need a backup so it could just be that, but dunno with Seattle these days.

Why go after Mariota when RG3 is much cheaper and pretty much the same guy?

Cause RGKnee has proven he's done. Teams figured him out quickly after they studied his one option and run tendencies and now that he can't reliably run he's finished. The guy is seriously injury prone.

I think Mariota is a clone but at least there's a CHANCE he could disprove people (inc. myself). Griffin is proven he's a failure. Not knocking the guy or hoping he continues to fail - just is what it is.

Wilson to the Titans. Rivers to the Seahawks. Tebow to the Bucs. Mariotta to the Chargers (but pouts his way into a trade to the Giants, who don't even need a QB). Bradford lost for the season due to injury sustained in an intense game of table tennis, and Testaverde comes out of retirement to sign with the Eagles and lead them to a glorious season in which they almost don't fail to make the playoffs.

People are talking.
