Any idea what the return was?

Not yet- Guessing a late round pick though.

I like Malik Reed. Wish we had room for him. Great person, great teammate but I also really liked Jonathan Cooper and it becomes a numbers game. Just hope if we kept an extra OLB we didn't keep Aaron Patrick over him. I imagine he will be released though.

Little surprised by this one. Rypien moved the ball well and probably did better in that aspect than Johnson, but some of those INT's including the one in the endzone were really bad. He has improved though and Johnson is what he is.

I’m not really. Rypien can be our backup for another decade. Johnson is a good veteran backup option, but he’s pushing 40.

Does this mean we’re betting huge on Chubb to rebound? I Just don’t wanna see this end up like the Shaq Barrett situation.

That EZ pick was a deflection, and should have been caught. I think Ryp ended much better than JJ, and reports were that he stunk up the place the last week or two in practice.

Huh? You don't get a draft pick for a player claimed off waivers.
You've been around long enough to know they pull guys back from waivers and look for trade opportunities.

I feel like this one was so hard to decide. Josh Johnson started off better, Rypien may have ended better.

Broncos may think better chance to store Josh Johnson on the PS if it was neck and neck but ideally they had to like Rypien a bit more regardless to make him our only QB behind Wilson risking Johnson sign elsewhere.

Weird I started typing Lock instead of Wilson at first. Feels good to be able to edit that.

Not sure I agree that he was "much" better. Maybe a little better overall from start to finish. JJ had an early lead on him and Rypien closed the gap quickly.

Maybe Bronx try to sign a Kellon Mond or other young buck to the taxi instead of Johnson. Perhaps someone with a higher ceiling than Ryp?

I'm pretty sure I've seen it in football - you put a guy on waivers then get a call from a team that wants him, but are sure he won't make it to them - they pull him off waivers and make the trade.

I'm not going to post all the other teams cuts but one I do have interest in I will post.

Dolphins released OG Solomon Kindley... I like that guy!

Once you place a player on waivers they go through the period (24 hours) where any team can claim the player. The team with the lowest record gets first claimer spot, yada yada.

You could be thinking about the PS. If someone tries to sign a player off a team PS the team has the right to activated them but they have to place them on the active roster for 3 weeks before they can release them again.

MLB has a waiver trade similar to the one you describe above but the NFL doesn't.

Yeah, that's a real value to the Steelers.

Agree- For any team needing a depth pass rusher, great person/teammate Reed was a good find. Hate to see him go but it made sense to me at the same time. I know he is well loved by teammates. Happy for him to continue this career. I know when he was going through the draft process it was very similar to Brandon Marshall (The LB)... Was really hoping to end up with Denver. He got 3 good years here.
