Then my eyes deceive me. Waitman can boom unusual hang time - for sure, but he can also shank a punt. Martin averaged 50 yards a punt preseason and Waitman 45. I don't think it was a bad roster decision to keep Waitman, but the Broncos are certainly betting on the upside for Waitman while saving about $1.5 mil.

i think at altitude you want to favor hang time and net over gross.

saving money is always a bonus and a factor if all else is equal.
