i could care less about the consensusI've got no doubt there are some backing your side as I've seen them too. My point is that the consensus is that Scherff's not an OT. Those believing he's an OT are, to say the least, a very distinct minority.

i have my own mind
already have and one game doesnt make a careerDon't we all? For good reference, look at the WaPo thread I posted about Scherff. Good read with some video to boot.

Dad... you know the mentality though.. you can have a million attaboys and one you screwed up, and people will remember the screw up and generally label your worst performance as par for the course. Well as long as that fits into what they actually want to happen. The reason people are willing to gloss over the obvious holes in all the top pass rushers of this draft is because no one cares if a guy cant tackle a RB out of the back field or his only move is the speed rush, because THATS what you see on sports center every week. The only time an O-lineman shows up on Sports Center is usually when he is getting beat by said named pass rusher.
Yeah, sure. The Washington Post featured one screwup, ignored all the attaboys and skewed the entire analysis against Scherff like he committed some war crime. Is that about right?

you know the same guy who wrote that said fowler had one pass rush move which you dismissed dont you
More like he had a bad game against Maryland, some people took this as a sign that he has trouble pass blocking and thus would never make an OT. So despite the fact that he is considered the best O-lineman in the draft by most, he would Never be worth a top five pick.. .and oh he cant pass block at all.
That about covers it.
What you're missing is that this isn't just one guy; this guy's opinion is representative of almost everyone else's.
Yes, the Post would publish an article making broad declarative statements praising his abilities as a run blocker but his denouncing his skills as a pass blocker based on one game. Got it. Say hi to Scherff's mom for me.

So basically everyone elses opinion matters as long as it fits what you want to happen in any case. Instead of actually forming your own opinion even if it doesnt mesh with the group??
And now you are just being childish because some one does not agree with YOUR opinion which apparently you didnt form, just borrowed from some one else. Good to know.
Like I said, do your own research on the player. Even going off of others opinions you might find that before the knee injury there were those who thought Scherff would be in serious consideration as the #1 player in this draft. I get it, you dont think he is worth it, or more to the point think the multiple picks we can hopefully get for the number 5 are of more value, but seriously.. the condescending nanannabooboo comments?? Really dude?
a few days ago i posted a positive view of his pass pro and you dismissed it
Like I've said umpteen times, it's not MY opinion, it's the opinion of the consensus of commentators out there, which include those I normally respect and others that I don't. Let me give you an example. When I say that I don't believe that vaccines cause autism, it's not must MY belief that's the case, it's based on other reputable scientists' opinions on the issue. You're the guy sounding like Jennifer McCarthy and RFK, Jr. who cite some rogue scientists concluding the opposite and stomping your foot on the ground saying it's your opinion.
well it is your opinion or else you would have a different view
and you would be wrongI'm not an anti-vaxxer. That's probably the best way to convey the opinion I've got here on Scherff.
and you would be wrong
