Probably wants to see what he looks like with Samuel, Logan, Brown, Scherff, and Cosmi back in the lineup. I wouldn't bench him for Allen, but if Fitz was ready I would.

I'm fairly certain we ALL know what we have in both now. Playing Allen would not hurt at this point but why? There is no season to save and he will never be our franchise QB.

I don't totally disagree. TH has had a longer chance at this point than Allen. One is going to be your backup if you find a QB in the draft or on an NFL roster. Might as well have a look at both. But really it doesn't make much difference.

I think that you've all made good points, but I don't think that this decision to go with Heinicke is as nuanced as these points suggest. Instead I believe that it came down to a single moment in which Ron looked at Allen, knowing what he knew about him, took a sip of coffee, and after showing a wry smile, that suppressed a reactive snicker, simply said to himself... "Naw!"
