Well see ya later, Doc. Injuries ruined his career, but a solid career.

Not before Jack Morris.
Halladay's got what, half a dozen seasons better than Morris' best season?
I think he's a pretty easy HOF pick, esp for his era. One thing that bugs me about HOF voting is that people look at career numbers (whatever number floats your boat) and not at individual seasons. Doc had a lot of great seasons in his shortish (only 13 seasons w/100 ip pitched) career. So if you're against "compiler" candidates, Doc should be a guy you want.
I knew this would be brought up. I just didn't think so fast. And, no. No Roy for the hall. Unless we are talking about the very overcrowded Hall of the Very Good.
Halladay led the league in WAR for pitchers 4 times and was top 5 eight times. Morris never led the league and was top 5 twice. Not before Jack Morris.
Hall of Very Good? He was the best pitcher in baseball for ten seasons.I knew this would be brought up. I just didn't think so fast. And, no. No Roy for the hall. Unless we are talking about the very overcrowded Hall of the Very Good.

Way more than a solid career - he was the best pitcher in his era, quite frankly - the innings he threw, the dominance he had, in a tough AL East for so many years, and then what he did in his first two seasons with the Phillies, without a doubt it was an unbelievably amazing career
He is a borderline HOF... He had an amazing 4 season stretch from 2008-2011. and he had 6 HOF seasons, with a couple very good seasons sprinkled in...
He did not play long enough to compile any HOF milestones...
If i had to put money in him making it or not, i would probably bet that he will make it...
Obviously nitpicking here, but I'd say he had 7 HOF type seasons:
2002
2003
2006
2008
2009
2010
2011
