My dad and I are doing Scotland in June for my 40th. We've since decided that we need an annual "big" golf trip. Top of the list right now are:

1. Bandon Dunes
2. Cabot Citrus Farms
3. Cabot Cliffs

I'm trying to talk my wife into Big Cedar Lodge/Branson for a whole extended family trip but she's not biting.
I can understand her reluctance...
I've always associated Branson with the likes of Panama City, the Strand, S. Padre, etc. Fun vacation spots, especially for car racing and C&W Music enthusiasts, putt putt, calabash and smorgasbord all-you-can-eateries, line dancing and general redneckery.
yahoo, but...
How many hundred wonderful courses dot the Strand, the panhandle and the Ozarks? (dunno re: Padre) I'm really looking forward to Big Cedar.
Cabot looks great, but...

Bandon

jebus... Scotland and Bandon Dunes... happy birthday

Back in the day, I held statewide Alabama dealers meetings at the RTJ Golf Trail clubhouses in Birmingham, Huntsville and Opelika... meetings would start at 1:00pm... tee times were 8:00am. v'played 9 of the Trail's 31 courses... someday. Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail

Tobacco Road today.

42-39 with 5 doubles (4 on the front)

Struggled off the tee until I finally put the driver away and finished -1 over the last 5 holes (including a missed 4 footer for birdie)

This place is the best.

Tobacco Road today.

This place is the best.

good to hear - easy to agree, considering the breadth of your elite experiences.
Favorite story, though, was Bethpage Black.

Well it's pretty much simulator season here in New England.

Hitting this place on Friday with my regular buds. It's a Golf Lounge 18 in Canton, CT. Ha, it's the only golf I play while drinking! Haven't been here before but it looks really nice and it gets great reviews. The virtual tour is well done:

The other good news is that we're installing a sim at my high school next bulding over so lunch breaks are gonna be range sessions!

lol @NEhomer... golf gyms are awesome... got a gift cert for X-Golf... wondering when it'd be worth driving 60 miles to the nearest one; meanwhile...

Solidifying plans for the winter.
Driving down to Stuart, FL staying and playing local courses for a week in mid-February... am picking Mrs. H2S in JAX on 24FEB, staying in St. Augustine area thru mid-March... dropping her back in JAX for flight home then heading north to Pawley's Island, SC to play Caledonia GC and True Blue GC (both Strantz designs)... then popping north to NC to play Pinehurst #10, Pine Needles, Tobacco Road and Tot Hill Farm.

figure that's a good start. :suds:

Mike just called, said we're walking Streamsong Red on 13.FEB... not a walker, will be interesting prelude to #10.
lol, I just made reservations at Bern's Steakhouse in nearby Tampa - place is even more pompous and extravagant than Streamsong.
He's also going to see about booking a day fishing charter off Stuart... s'been a while since we've been out on the big blue.

#16 on Red was the site of my hole in one last year. Great course.

Not really a "round tracker" per se, but Mizuno just announced new JPX 925 Forged in black and I think I have to get new irons.
