Passing specifically and possession in general has been abysmal in the last two games in particular. Not being able to play keep away cost them 2 points against Portugal and the disparity between Germany and the USMNT in that department was glaring.

So I said their inability to play keepaway cost them 2 points. You don't play keep away at the start of a match do you? So by definition I said their play down the stretch cost them.

Now, would you agree that shows the US wasn't playing keep away down the entire last 15 minutes of the game?

I didn't say they sucked the whole game. They outplayed them in the first half. When it counted and all they needed to do was control the ball they couldn't and looked really bad even trying. It's one thing to lose a ball because the other team makes a great play on it, and quite another to just miss passes wildly or not even notice the guy standing right in front of you and that happened often down that stretch. It's frustrating to watch as a fan.

The US attacking game is dangerous on set pieces and can create chances when at full health but not having Jozy has impacted some of that. Their defense has come up huge in all 3 of their games with Howard just flat out being a fucking beast in goal. They are an up and coming team playing better than they ever have and that's all great. I just get frustrated seeing pros missing basic passes taught to kids in grade school.

I do love the intensity of their defense at times. If Jozy comes back and can play full strength this team is dangerous enough to move forward.

No problem. Not worth getting too worked up over a message board disagreement. Hopefully Jozy can be ready to start and is in decent form. Would make a huge difference.

Bedoya works his ass off and doesn't give away balls in bad spots, but lacks ideas in the final third. I hate to bust up the Jones and Beckerman combo because both are huge reasons why we are in the knockout stage but maybe you send Beckerman to the bench, and slide Bradley to that holding mid position. Then bring Diskerud into that creative center mid position.
