Hot Corner: Interrogation room with ex-White Sox Aaron Rowand - Chicago Sun-Times

AJ was one of his favorite ChiSox teammates, and he blatantly dislikes SF.

Nice signing, Sabes...

So that's why it took 60M to get him here...

You see...if he liked The City it would have only taken 35M to get him here. Pretty shrewd move by Sabes - overcoming the negative with $$.

Somehow, somewhere, a SiliconValley dotcom VC had to have had some influence in signing both Zito and Rowand.

Maybe with RoRo, but I have a feeling it was a Grocery mogul in on the Zito deal...

Some in depth reporting on Zito. He's really flaky. But I have a little sympathy. Not a ton, with all the $ of course, but after reading this it reminded me that most overpaid players aren't happy about it...

Rowands comments were lame, and only add to my frustration with him being on this team.

Honestly, I wish he would go die in a hole :rolleyes2:

Whats more frustrating, imo, is how he starts off every season red hot. And you start to think that maybe, just maybe, he turned it around. Only to have him dump on those hopes come June.

I had a feeling Zito would shit the bed this year when I heard him say he was returning to "what got him here," which he identified as "having fun".

If Zito has any hope of being an effective big league pitcher again, he needs to totally change his mechanics. He's become an all-arm thrower. He's totally fucked himself up. He needs a pitching guru to break him down and build him back up. Tough to do at his age.

I'm not sure the word 'honestly' means what you think it means. At least, I hope not.

I must be missing something. I don't see the big deal with what Rowand said.

Well said. I agree.

I liked this part of the article. Pretty sad really.

"Instead, in the coming days and months and years, all that weight, all that expectation, all that godforsaken math, it pushed Barry — Barry, not Zito — off his delicate and particular balance. Those numbers meant that he would never again be consciously unconscious."

I'm on board with CC on this. Sounds like it was taken out of context.

No excusing the AJ love. There were many reasons to not be happy with RoRo before this interview.
