Ron Wilson throws Kadri under the bus

I generally don't like Wilson at all, but I did enjoy hearing that smug little prick Kadri get knocked down a peg.

For embattled centre Nazem Kadri, given another chance to make a statement on a quality line with Luca Caputi and Colby Armstrong, it was a minus-2 night, in a camp that’s provided him far more frustration than points after three games.

“He showed me (tonight) that he turns the puck over a lot and he has to get over that,” coach Ron Wilson said in a continuing critique of the first-round pick.

“I don’t know how sharp his skates are, because he can’t stop when there is a turnover, he goes for a big skate. There are a lot of little junior things we have to get out of his game.

“Some of our young guys struggled under the intense pressure that Buffalo can apply. We had basically one line and a mixed bag.”

Personally I don't think Kadri is ready to make the jump to the NHL. Many Leafs fans would disagree, but he's been a step behind everyone else. Sent him back down.

I agree. hell of a junior player, needs some seasoning.
and I think Wilson actually says the right things. skill alone won't cut it.
Saying them to the media instead of to Kadri, however, is a bullshit move.

wilson to me seems to be more of a grumpy old man than a coach at times. unless his lineup is lined with talent he seems to do more complaining than coaching.

but at the same time kadri needs a gut check, and i think his ego's got to come down.
everything wilson said about him is true, its just c'mon ron, tell the player. not the media.

Burkie didn't have very good things to say about Kadri last night (basically said that Kadri will start the season in the AHL).

Also, TSN Ice Chips is reporting that Kadri did not take the morning skate with the Leafs today...
