Can't say I didn't expect him to clear waivers.the surprising part was lemaire saying he's not playing till he feels he's in shape to play.kind of makes you wonder what's going on with rolston.

I know langenbrunner and arnott are off the books after this year possibly a few more I suppose you could factor in what parise is getting paid now toward available space for next year but we are still over the cap.the only thing that's kept us under is injuries.

With the way things have gone with the devils lately I wouldn't count on a sure thing.on one hand the fact that he's an rfa is a little more comforting on the other the fact that no one has contacted parise regarding negotiating a new contract while he's been injured and free is worrisome.

Is he kidding. How far do you need to skate to play the trap?

I'll put up a link to the article when I get home boss.its hard to interpret can't see having one game off putting somebody out of game shape.I'm assuming lemaire is saying rollie is just plain out of shape.or perhaps he wasn't ready when he came back from the injury.hard to say

I wouldn't be concerned. No team is going to negotiate a new contract with an injured player. Once they know Parise is 100% they will probably begin contract talks.

He will still be Devils property. There aren't many teams who are going to be willing to give up the draft pick compensation it would take to sign Parise to an offer sheet. Especially if they aren't sure he's made a full recovery.

Lets be honest if the Devils don't resign Parise how would the Kovalchuk signing look? I honestly think it would be Lou's worst nightmare come true.

That's the comfort I get out of him being an rfa.and to be honest I would take parise over kovy any day of the week.still think that wad more of a vanderbeak signing.

My only concern with resigning Parise is he has stated he doesn't like the revolving door of coaches since he came into the league. The J Mac disaster won't help that too much.
