This guy is such a pansy assed bitch it's amazing. He should have stayed in hiding if the only thing he was going to say with his big whore mouth is that they raised total commercial time to 32 minutes.

Just do away with down and distance. That would definitely speed things up.

Better yet don't even play a game! That would certainly speed things up

Do any of really believe what comes out of his moth or NFLHQ? Likely the same group that thinks the WWE is real.

First we know the NFL will not leave any money on the table regardless of what we fans think. As soon as I read it I thought like Hank did. That alone is scarring me. But if they reduce commercials be prepared to be bombarded by banner ads.

They want NY to make the calls. Anyone sniffing conspiracy here. Yeah this sounds like protecting the shield. How about hiring refs that understand the rule book? Let's eliminate some of the stupidest rules and adjust those that need adjusting the what the F is a catch. I like the. "if you ask 20 guys in a bar what would they say"? You're welcome Hank.

I'm not a fan of running the clock after a player goes OB. It's part of the strategy. How about we required Ed Hochuli (et al) to less than 2 minutes of air time per infraction? That would speed the game up.

The only positive thing I saw was he wanted to eliminate commercials after the PAT.

Weren't they testing doing ads that flash on the field during games at one time? Maybe that is the next move. Another move could be PPV for major games.

For those too lazy to click on the article. Here go the suggestions:

Clubs will vote on a change to centralize replay reviews. Instead of a fixed sideline monitor, we will bring a tablet to the referee who can review the play in consultation with our officiating headquarters in New York, which has the final decision. This should improve consistency and accuracy of decisions and help speed up the process.

Regarding game timing, we're going to institute a play clock following the extra point when television does not take a break, and we're considering instituting a play clock after a touchdown.

We're also going to standardize the starting of the clock after a runner goes out-of-bounds, and standardize halftime lengths in all games, so we return to the action as quickly as possible.
So they are ignoring the real problem; commercials.

Did they say anything about running the clock after the player goes OB at all times? It just says "standardize the running of the clock after a runner goes out of bounds". Since the clock stops only in the last 2 minutes of the first half and the last 5 minutes of the second half when the player goes out of bounds, it sounds like it's only talking about standardizing the other 53 minutes.

I haven't seen anything more than what was in the article. Reading it quickly the first time I took it to mean they might be looking at "standardizing" it as eliminating it?

I didn't read it like that. In the same sentence it says they will "standardize the halftime length" so I think they are talking about making sure it is uniform throughout the league. Since it's a spot start, I can see where there might be some discrepancies.
