Out of Brady's 15 seasons, he's had a top 5 defense in regards to points per game in 6 of them. Top 5 in yards once, and top 5 in DVOA once.

In his first 4 SB wins, i believe his defense ranked in the Top 6 in PPG....Just saying, if Rodgers ever had a defense he didnt have to overcome (this is a guy that lost 51-45 in the playoffs, and almost lost putting up 31 yesterday), he would probably have himself some rings...Not to mention, guys that cant field an onside kick

You can argue that Rodgers is almost never without an elite receiver option and until he got it going with Nelson late in the season they were playing like shit.

Then you look at yesterday and can't quite make that argument.

I don't think GB gets past the Falcons without Nelson though.

Think GB/Atlanta will just be like yesterday.....No CLEAR better team, just a team that has it last and wins.....Dont expect much stopping the opponent....But i agree the Falcons defense is faster, and better than Dallas

Top 8, yes.

And Rodgers certainly has years (2009/2012) when his defense let him down. But he also won an NFC Championship scoring only 14 points on offense and throwing 2 picks. He's also lost scoring only 20 points (3x) and 22 points (once).

Their offense is better than Dallas. Their offense is better than anyone's.

Falcons D only started playing decent when Vic Beasley got the pass rush going.

They're still prone to track meets.

And either way, your point that he has had a top 5 defense most of the time, is hyperbole. Whether you want to just look at PPG, yards, or advanced stats.

And sure, if they recovered the onside kick they would have won. But he also didn't play well in that game.

Agreed, especially at home, that offense is unstoppable. Total in this game is 60.5

Brady is the most accomplished and Godgers is easily the best.
Q: In addition to being for the NFC Championship, is the Packers-Falcons game also to decide which QB will be the league MVP?

Playing in Seattle is a different animal, and he played well in big chunks of that game, especially on the most important drives late

Either way, we can nitpick all we want, Brady has lost SB's when his defense gave up 17 and 21 points....Point is, I think NE's defense plays a big part in why they win in the postseason....Very rarely, if ever, is it the Packers defense carrying that team

I know that it is a regular season award supposedly, but have they voted yet? If they haven't, I've got to believe that this game would have an influence on how they vote.

I agree 100%, but Im almost sure the ballots are already submitted....I would have to think so, otherwise these postseason would have to influence your vote almost every season

Yup and why were they playing Seattle on the road? Because they went 4-4 on the road, with losses to Detroit, New Orleans, and Buffalo where they scored 43 points in 3 games. They win one of those games, and the game is in Lambeau.

Yes, we can nitpick (Brady won a Super Bowl when his defense gave up 29 points for instance). In every Super Bowl run except for the first one, the Pats defense has given up at least 27 points in one game and the Pats won.

Here's the big difference between Rogers and Brady. Rogers can extend plays with his feet and can be deadly accurate throwing on the run. Brady absolutely cannot do that. The only reason the Packers record this year is not like New England's, is that New England has a pretty good defense behind Brady. With all of Green Bays injuries, including almost all of their secondary with their replacements leaking like a sieve, Green Bay would have had home field advantage. In almost all their losses, they score enough points to win. They just gave UP more points than they scored.
As for Braskey's statement that you can argue that Rodgers is almost never without an elite receiver option and until he got it going with Nelson late in the season they were playing like shit, he didn't have that Nelson safety blanket these last two games, yet he still scores 30+ points per.

Brady has gotten a lot better at extending plays with his feet actually. He even said he started working on that because of watching guys like Rodgers. They did score only 14 and 16 points in 2 of their 6 losses. They win those games and they're the 2 seed.

Yup it sure is. I'm not denying that. I'm putting some facts into context. You win the Super Bowl by putting together 3 or 4 good games in a row, and if you slip up one game, your defense picks you up. Brady twice has had a playoff run when he didn't have a bad game (2004 and 2014), and they won the Super Bowl. The other two times, no denying it his defense/special teams picked him up in at least one game. Rodgers has one season when he won more than one playoff game, and that was the Super Bowl run. And in that season his defense certainly stepped up when he had a bad day.

Brady can read a defense and doesn't need 20 seconds to find the open receiver.

Anyone who doesn't have Montana and Brady at 1 & 1a (any order will do) in their SB era QB rankings either doesn't know much about football or just plain hates New England enough to say stupid shit to justify it.
