This series is the litmus test for the sox. If the Jays win two or more games, the Sox are finished. Book it.

yeah i know they do. but its ok.. life goes onBluejays suck
Just wanted you to get the usual welcome
lmao.. welp. no need to worry about that. This series is the litmus test for the sox. If the Jays win two or more games, the Sox are finished. Book it.
Doubront is good, but I wouldn't rank him #1. Maybe 3 or 4.
lel. I guess W-L record is the end all be all again?
W-L record or not, 17-1 is pretty fucking impressive
dont act like his other numbers aren't among the league leaders.
17-1 is, I'm not discounting that. But Yu and Felix beat him in the other categories. When a pitcher has a good ERA and stats, but a poor W-L everyone says "W-L is a terrible way to judge pitchers". Now though all I'm hearing is his 17-1 record. Great, means he got better run support. If another pitcher has a lower ERA and higher K/BB ratio...then chances are he just didn't get the same breaks and runs from his team.

Lower Walk rate is a little more important than a higher K rate
Ks and Walks Values are not dependent upon each other. K/BB ratio is a bastardized stat that looks accurate. So people will widely accept it.
All that said King Felix>>>Scherzer.
Yep.
But with all that said, 17-1 on a 1st place team would win the Cy if the voting were held today.
True. That's probably what happens
I mean, sure Scherzer gets a ton of run support. But he has given up 4 or more earned runs 5 times all year.
Felix and Darvish have all each done that only 5 times as well. You give all 3 of those guys the same exact run support. They probably all about the same record. Felix has pitch more inning then either of them though. So the IP along with the better ERA, ERA+ are what really drive it home for me.
So who are rooting for in this Pirates/ Cards series?
Do you think the Reds still have a good shot at the Division here?
Ideally the Cards take 2 of 3. They're only 1.5 behind the Cards, but 4.5 behind the Bucs.
And oh yeah, the division is far from settled. Reds still have 7 games vs the Cards and 6 of their last 9 games of the season are against the Pirates.
Reds still have a good shot. They just have to win games.
Don't worry. Cowboy has been telling me they have no shot. He is all wise and knowing. He got into a tizzy when I called him un-objective. It was fun to watch.
Homer Bailey
Jose Fernandez...still awesome
