All it does is waste time.I know MLB replay is still new but holy shit is it bad. Seems like they get it wrong more than they get it right
They are trying to Fuck up a game that doesn't need fixing. Much like the NFL, 10 years from now, it might be 7 on 7 with flags on the QB's
It'd be worse.Playing 7 on 7 flag football would involve fundamental changes to the game play, the playing personnel on the field and the basic rules. Comparatively, this type of change would not do any of those things to baseball.
Tennis has gone to automated line calls, and they have been better for it. Has tennis been completely altered? Altered at all? It'd be worse.
No clue.Tennis has gone to automated line calls, and they have been better for it. Has tennis been completely altered? Altered at all?

Why wouldn't/how wouldn't it?Why/how?
Come to Florida.. there are baseball diamonds on every corner in the suburbs....Robotic umps. Geotracking balls and strikes. OK by me. In another decade, American males won't be playing baseball any longer...it will be a foreign dominated sport. Kids don't play baseball in the U.S. - try to find baseball diamonds. The only thing American males will eventually care about is baseball stats and their fantasy teams. Even today, I wonder how fast the baseball fan is changing from one who has played the game to one who only has watched it. So bring on the technology, open up the drug stores, have Designated hitters, designated fielders, 30 guys on a team, no sliding rules....whatever you want. But could you wait for another half dozen years or so. I'm an old fucker and I'd like to see actual baseball until I die. Then you young pukes can fuck it all up any way you want.
Ugghhh
MLB 2.0: Reimagining baseball -- It's time for robot umpires behind home plate
As much as I disagree the with the HP umps on many of their ball/strike calls.....I truly hope this "tech" doesn't replace them anytime soon.
Why wouldn't/how wouldn't it?
Replay does nothing but add dead time for more commercials. hard to see how changing the game at its highest level, again, would improve anything either.
I see no reason to add more technology or a clock to the game. They can get rid of that stupid box while they're at it too. Bout as appealing as the tail on a hockey puck.
No clue.
Didn't watch tennis in the first place.
Isn't it basicly WWF now anyway?
Why? It won't cost them any jobs. You still need an umpire at home plate.
If a human being is behind the plate then they should be calling balls and strikes as well as outs... end of story on that.
The human can make safe/out calls at the plate. He still has a job to do back there beyond calling balls and strikes. He also has to be there to provide fresh baseballs to the pitcher.
