According to Souza Jr, most teams have multiple hitting coaches with each being responsible for different areas. For some reason Seattle has just 1. He doesn't think 1 can do the job as fully anymore and has no explanation why they are not adding more staff.

That came from one of his weekly spots on Softy's show. He has expanded on it more than once.

He said something about one of them not actually working with the hitters and how different their approach overall is compared to what he knows of other organizations.

He is involved in some sort of baseball academy and has ties to several teams.

I have no idea how accurate his info is, but we can all agree that whatever their approach actually is, it isn't working. We have too many talented hitters that go into way too long of protracted slumps making the same mistakes over and over without making adjustments.

Something is off at the management level.

I am curious about that driveline place that JP and few other players have gone. Not sure what the relationship is with the Mariners but the M’s need some of that if it has turned JP into what he has become.

But I didn’t hear that one. It would make sense because it seems like most players have off-season hitting instructors so you should have multiple on the staff coordinating with them so everyone is on the same page. Either way as it has been said on here, a lot of the stuff is basic stuff so I was just giving an opposing view.

I told everyone on this site springtime Gilbert was the Ace of our staff.

If I am in a 1 game playoff and have all arms at my disposal ... I roll with Logan starting the game and keep a keen eye on his stuff.

He is the most knowledgeable true pitcher on our staff. As well as the most consistent good outings with the very rare start where he just is not 'on' and gets knocked around a bit.

Game 1 of the world series: Gilbert
Game 2 - Castillo
Game 3 - Kirby

Bryce Miller in relief if any of games 1-3 is winnable and must hold for 2-3 innings of Miller work.

Topa is my closer with the game on the line in the 9th inning

So a week ago they pull a cruising Castillo before he hits 100 pitches on the excuse of saving his innings only to sacrifice the win by the blowpen. Then tonight they push Kirby beyond 100 pitches after allowing a batter to get on base to only blow the lead then turn it over to the blowpen….the results are obvious. Servais has zero consistency and now we go blowpen day tomorrow, thank god for the Huskies.
