I don't think I've ever heard anyone say a bad word about him personally. Some Met fans criticize his actions in the 1973 world series but that wasn't personal, it was job performance. Just goes to show you what an incredible douche George Steinbrenner was to have him not talk to have for 20 years

It is sad day to lose another one who had firsthand stories of our great american pasttime in its zenith.
