RIP Jim. I didn't always see eye-to-eye with all of your columns, but there's no denying your passion for the game of hockey.

Just to clarify...the Buffalo HOF QB (and southwestern PA native) is spelled Kelly....the late hockey writer is Kelley...although the prononciation is the same....

Wow I didn't here about that until now. Damn he was a pretty good Hockey writer. Like dash said I didn't always agree with him but he was good at what he did.

RIP Jim you will be missed. :(

Pretty sad. I didn't always see eye to eye with the guy either but you could tell he had a serious passion for hockey and I respect anyone like that.

RIP Jim

I grew up reading The Buffalo News years before I could even fully understand what it was I was reading.

Jim Kelley was one of the first writers I grew accustomed to seeing day in and day out in the News. I fell in love with hockey at an early age. When I came to the realization that I would not play professional hockey, journalism became Plan B.

Today, I aspire to one day make a living doing something he perfected.

He will be missed.
