Rocky once told a story - and Rocky is a great story teller - that he was on the sidelines and one of his team mates on defense made a great play so Rocky started cheering them on.

He said Chuck looked over at him and said, "We don't do that here".

Chuck believed all that emotional rah-rah stuff doesn't win ball games. It was the stuff you did in practice and the time you spent in the film room that translated to wins on Sunday.

"Chuck had the same pregame speech for every game, 'OK men, we worked hard all week and we know what to do. Let's go out and do it.' Half time was the same way, 'OK men, we've made the adjustments so let's go out and play'".

Class act. When I was a kid I always got him mixed up with Chuck Knox. Dunno why but they are still two of my favorite coaches of all time.

About 25 years ago , the dealership I worked for hired Rocky Blier as a motivational speaker. Last think he said was that the reason he was wearing that SB ring ( 4 to choose from) was because it was the biggest, gaudiest one of all. We all laughed
