Former Flyer DMan Brad McCrimmon was on the Russian aircraft that went down. I loved Brad when he was playing in Philly. One tragedy after another this offseason. This sucks.
I can't believe ESPN et all are not covering this at all. So sad, Texas A&M is more important than 43 lives. Its a sad day for hockey fans the world over.
RIP to Brad and the entire Lokomotiv team. No survivors now. Someone mentioned on the general board thread that Galimov was in a coma initially but that they could not save him...
this offseason just keeps having one devastating tragedy after another..this really sucks. rest in peace to all those involved and condolences to their friends and families. could never imagine what it would be like if something happened like that over here.
I was just reading Meltzer's blog on hockeybuzz. It just brought back some fine memories of my childhood looking back on those Flyers teams with Howe and McCrimmon paired up. Guys like Sinisalo, Eklund and so many others. I think those Flyers teams were by far my favorite ever. Just so fucking sad to hear this shit. On another note that why ESPN pisses me off. The day our defensive coordinator JJ passed away. Fucking ESPN decided to put Brett Favre on the front page. Fucking assholes with no respect to other more important issues. I'm done.
Brad had a very nice NHL career. A SC winner with Calgary and was in the SC Finals that still breaks my heart to this day coming up short against the Oilers, eighth all time in plus and minus. Has his name ever been mentioned for the Hall of Fame? I know his numbers are not on the same level as other great DMan but he did everything else on the ice to have his team win games. At the very least I hope the Flyers retire his number.
