Who cares. Ruutu is an agitator. He was just doing his job. The Ducks will just put another forward in the lineup. Erat would be a big loss to the Preds.

I think Destroy made that point (and it was a very good one) the other day when he said it's a strategy employed by teams these days. The Ducks don't give a rat's ass if Ruutu gets a lengthy suspension, he's been out of the lineup more that he's been in. I agree with DaBolts, if Erat is out for even a couple of games, that's a huge loss to the Preds and could swing the series the Ducks way.

I said this after the abortion in Long Island:

TEAMS need to be punished more in situations like that. Dash and DDC make a good point. Nobody gives a fuck if Ruttu gets suspended (or Martin, Gillies, Simon, Ott etc....)

Fine the hell out of the team (hundreds of thousands), and count that fine(x2) against the salary cap for the entirety of the net season.

What if for example, Ruutu gets a lengthy suspension and the Wings happen to face them in the next round? He's not playing and there are less runs being taken at Detroit skaters. Losing Erat sucks, but maybe we can prevent somebody else getting hurt. I only look at it (a suspension) as half punishment for the player with the other half for protecting other players.

The Richards one shouldn't warrant a suspension, based on the previous infractions and what they've garnered, as well as the fact that he was just putting his arm up to protect himself. The Rutuu one I've yet to see...but it's Rutuu...and he's a Duck. Soooo
