He will have reconstruction of his ACL and LCL in his left knee. He says he will be ready to go by the season opener. I don't doubt his work ethic and hope this is true but still say that is pretty damn optimistic.

They just said this on the local Redskins station here.

I tend to agree with you. Adrian Peterson is an outlier, not the norm. I trust him to work his ass off, and hope they are right that he is back by the opening day, but it is a very cautious optimism for sure.

At least the Redskins appear to have a more than capable backup QB already in place w/ Cousins.

If shouldn't be allowed on the field until

1) He learns to slide and/or run out of bounds. Otherwise prepare yourself for Mike Vick 2.0 where its a guarantee he won't play all 16 games every year.

2) The Skins upgrade their shitty field

Scott Van Pelt brought up an interesting point today. He said the NFL is all about "player safety" and players are getting fined at never before seen rates but the NFL allowed the Redskins organization to put so many players in jeopardy playing on such a horrendous field.

Same for the Chicago Bears. Their turf is terrible. I doubt even the old leather heads had to play on that shit, because back then they weren't too lazy to cut the grass and avoid the snaggle monster.

People can say he needs to slide or change the way he plays a bit, but all RG3 was doing on his final play of the season was trying to pick up the ball. He wasn't even hit.

But if he wasn't so reckless when he runs, his knee wouldn't have even been damaged to where he hurt it further in that game. That's the point.

Just hope he is ok. As a fan of the Skins and for fans of the NFL. The guy is a special player.

This is football. Players are going to get hit no matter what. The only way RG3 is going to change the way he plays the game is if Shanahan changes the offense. Do you see that happening?

That's absurd. Players can certainly change their games if they wanted to. Both Steve Young and Donovan McNabb dramatically altered their style of play to stay healthy so RG3 is certainly capable of running out of bounds. Don't be so short sighted.

LOL!!

He's not going to be able to run out of bounds all the time. RG3 will get hit. All QB's get hit. The question is how much more punishment can he take?? Only time will tell.
