I don't think Weber would see a huge drop off without Suter, but they definitely compliment each other well. Remember, Suter has led all NHL players in ice time per game these playoffs. In my mind, that's the most telling stat. When the games are at their most important, who is the coach loading ice time on to? While I'm sure Weber is close to Suter, it just goes to show how valuable Suter is.

If Weber went to another team he would probably still be famous for huge hits, physical player, and gunning one timers through the net, but he would get exposed a bit defensively. IMO, Suter is the best defenseman in the league from a strictly defensive standpoint. Watch him play, he'll give you a laundry list of little picks, steals, and nuances akin to what Cherry talks about on Coach's Corner or what you see Lidstrom do if you look close. The guy is amazing.

For the record, I don't know why or how I developed this man-crush on Suter, I hated his fucking dad.

Errr, uncle. Hey, the point remains, I hate Gary Suter. :D

Ryan on the other hand, is the most underrated dman in the league, IMO.

Question if the player is a RFA on a two-way deal and another gives them an offer sheet can it be another two-way deal or does an offer to an RFA have to be an NHL only contract?

I can be, but I don't think you'll see much of that. If a player is willing to jump ship and sign an offer sheet, it's got to be worth their while.

Thanks was curious. Yeah I don't think any players would take that type of offer just curious if teams were allowed.

Mooger is probably the guy to double check with, he knows his CBA better than Bettman. But I'm pretty sure there's no rule against signing a guy to a two way deal.

Usually the only guys who sign two way deals are younger players who are waiver exempt, or older guys who probably won't be picked up on waivers.

I know Tampa will have some cap space with Gagne coming off the books, but some team will be interested in Steven Stamkos, Lowebellini COUGH COUGH?

I would be extremely surprised if Stamkos is still on the table on July 1. I don't see Yzerman letting that happen.

And Stamkos has gotta like his potential future in Tampa given that they have a chance to make the SCF tonight.

A few other guys should be off the table too: Weber (I agree with dash on this), Doughty, Setoguchi, just to name a few.

Lou has stated he wants to resign Parise, so I'm going to assume he's off the table.
