Nothing is obvious with the Bengals.....

I'm happy to see this, but I'd rather have a long term deal. The salary cap hit on a franchise player is high -- Of course we have the room, but there are other ways to use it.

I'd rather tag him. See if he is a one year wonder or finally turned it on. Don't want to spend a ton of money on a guy who has only had 1 year of production. Especially at DE.

Really think they should have tagged andre, woulda cost about 1.3 mil less, also smith is a top 10 oline man, really not sure you could say the same bout mj. MJs good, but probably benefits from having geno lined up next to him alot. Oh well at least they didnt tag nugent or huber.

Andre Smith is no where close to being a top 10 Olineman. I would rather tag Johnson knowing that the strength of our team is in tact, the defense to this point.

I'd rather have Smith back than Johnson and it's not even close. Smith was the #1 rated RT in football this year. Johnson, while good isn't as important. The fact that Gillberry had 6.5 sacks shows that we can get pressure with guys who aren't all pros. However we need that O-line to protect Dalton.

It's going to be a buyer's market for O-line though..... There will be a lot of value out there. We're the Bengals -- Value is important to us.

Oh yeah? I don't remember seeing Andre at the pro-bowl, or being put on the reserve list, or being talked about too much.

Maybe he was rated #1 by somebody, but it is pretty obvious he is not respected enough by his peers yet to be discussed in the pro-bowl.

I am not saying the pro-bowl is the end all, beat all, but you think as the #1 rated RT in the NFL, you would get consideration or at least put on the rserve list don't you?

Jeff Saturday was benched by Green Bay mid season, and then still made the Pro Bowl, so please dont make that argument.

PFF is the one with the rankings. I'd rather have Smith than Johnson. With the way our DE's have played on other teams after leaving, it's obvious that they play better here than anywhere else because of Atkins.

We obviously need to keep Atkins.... I think you're right in that he'll make a lot of guys look good. But I also think we need to keep either Johnson or Dunlap long-term. They have unique talents given their size and speed and they could both continue developing into great pass-rushers.

Of the two, I'd rather keep Johnson because he doesn't have a vagina and he tries more than 15% of the time.

I agree that we should keep Johnson, I just think it's wiser to take another year to look at him. Before this year he had 11.5 career sacks in 3 years. Just doesn't inspire long term, big money to me.

Jermaine Gresham has also played in an All-Pro game..... That's all you really need to know.

Jeff Saturday is a center, a very good center with a track record, and there are not many good centers in the league right now.

He's not a very good center now and definitely didn't deserve to be on the Pro Bowl roster.
