My rep has been the same for a while now, I rarely check it. The old watch pot never boils saying seems appropriate.
In my case the pot isnt even on the stove

I just figured this out in the other thread today.
If you rep someone, they get +2 points, If I do it, they get +7, IPW +14, etc.
those points accumulate to increase your own rep power.

basically, I have a bigger green e-peen than you, and IPW is e-hung like a horse.

For my part, I just give out rep points when I like the post. It could be for any of several reasons: great diction, humor, good insight, or just the expression of a valuable opinion. I don't concern myself with getting rep points of my own, either, and just post whatever I feel like posting when I feel like posting it. I just try to play to the thread.

But I really think it's just the user's discretion. I like to spread them out over various reasons, as I said before. There are so many ways to add value to this board, and everyone here does his or her part to add that value. The insight and information are the substance and driving force of the board, and the humor makes the board more "readable" so to speak by preventing it from getting too dense or serious and by allowing a sense of community to form between the posters. And that's why i rep as I do.

But in the end it doesn't matter. Who care's, this isn't a popularity contest its about content..


In short,give me a good topic or response and you are more likely to get a rep point from me than you are because you said something funny. JMO
