Does anybody watch the news anymore? Who the hell cares?

Someone does or all the stations wouldn't air national or their own local broadcasts 3 or so times a day.

5/22: Step Up: High Water (YouTube) renewed for a 2nd season.

5/22: UnREAL's previously ordered 4th season will now air on Hulu rather than Lifetime, though the latter network may still air reruns at a later date. It is likely to be the show's final season.

5/21: LA→Vegas (Fox) canceled after 1 season.

Yep, news is a HUGE moneymaker for a lot of markets.

It would have to be or it wouldn't be on so much. Morning, noon, evening and late night newscasts.

Yep we branded our station as the 'News' station, had 4 hour morning show, hour noon, early(30), and late (60)supper and hour at 11. Not to mention the 5 hours straight of Friday night football coverage.

We were the number THREE station in our market (#6) and the one year that it leaked out, our GM got a roughly 5 M dollar bonus.

Stupid crazy money.

What people have to remember is sure news is expensive to produce, but it costs a LOT to buy shows too. Friends re-runs or the latest incarnation of CSI, ain't cheap either.

Nope. Fox has said they will air it in its original Friday night time slot. Which means I'll be watching Last Man before I turn it to watch the second half of McGuyver.

Hmmm...Thursday was it's original time slot. They mean the time slot before it was moved to Tuesday which isn't it's original time slot. Not to quibble or anything.

We rarely watch any shows or sporting events when they broadcast so we can fast forward thru commercials. DVRs are a wonderful thing.

Every show I watch is on the4 DVR. I never watch when they are scheduled. I hate commercials when it comes to TV shows. I watch all sports live. Commercials don't really bother me during sports. Probably due to them being much shorter.

Every show I watch is on the4 DVR. I never watch when they are scheduled. I hate commercials when it comes to TV shows. I watch all sports live. Commercials don't really bother me during sports. Probably due to them being much shorter.

I ref during the year so I had to record a lot of uconn games.

UConn games take 2 hours live. it's like maybe an hour fastforwarding through commercials.
