Jalen Hurts returns this week and we have seen all season that not only is he the best player in the league but the Eagles are the best team in the league with him. And now he is back.

Altho I currently have and have had for several years believed Mahomes to be the best player in the league, bar none - I mean the stats pretty much tell the story - I was nonetheless going along the past month-six weeks with the belief that Hurts was the one to beat for MVP. In other words it was his to lose. But even tho it's no fault of his own for being injured, not being on the field these last two games while Mahomes continues performing at such a high level has not helped Hurts chances. But assuming he comes thru with a big game this Sunday, he could still wrap up the award.

I don't think that's how weekly power rankings are supposed to work, they're supposed to account for that week of play, not potential future ranks. They're always subjective anyway though, so whatever.

Hurts is great but I don't think he's established himself as the best player in the league. Mahomie and several others have a jump on him. Really it seems likes there's more great QB's in the league right now than there's been in sometime.

Hurts will help them a lot though, Cowboys probably don't win that game with Hurts under center.

The weeks rankings are for how I have the team ranked for that week. It's the final week of the season, week 18 and Jalen is back. This is the best team in the league with Jalen at QB.

Losing games with key injury only applies to other teams....rankings are based on THAT week, unless key injury to Eagles player occurs - then they stay static because, well, only those injuries truly count...

I rarely complain about the ranking in this thread, but after 2 straight losses - with or without Hurts - you cannot place the Eagles #1. Just can't.

Also, your argument about Hurts returning means zero because no one has any idea how he'll play, how close to 100% he is, and what happens if he takes a big hit to the shoulder - until Hurts ACTUALLY plays, and Eagles win a game - looking into the future should not impact the ranking based on previous week(s).

We know how he will play because we already saw how he played after the injury. I'm not looking at the future I'm looking at the present. Jalen Hurts is back and thus they are again the best team in the league by far.
