Any UW fan not thrilled about this matchup is a fool IMO. 3 weeks ago, when the Huskies were sitting on a 3 game losing streak and with a 3-6 record no one even gave them the slimmest chance to go to a bowl game. Sure they're playing a team that made them look like a frosh football team earlier this year, but to be honest I'm just glad they made it to a bowl. Washington hasn't been to a bowl since 2002, so this really does mean something to the program.

From Nebraska's standpoint, I can definitely understand why this isn't an ideal matchup. The lack of bowl eligible teams in the Pac-10 put UW in a better bowl than they should have been in, with USC being ineligible and ASU having to schedule two FCS teams because San Jose State backed out of their game against ASU. Not much you can do about that.

Good luck in the Holiday Bowl although you guys probably won't need it. I will venture a guess though that this game will be better than the one in Seattle was. Still Nebraska should win and I expect them to. I hope Locker is fired up for his last game in the purple and gold.

Washington will be motivated for this game. I don't expect anything like the first round....

Jake Locker is a competitor and will bring his "A" game for the bowl game.

I don't understand this crap about Beebe screwing us here. Maybe this is a bad selection but why are we even in this situation? We were in position all year to control our own destiny right up until the CCG and it seems every oppurtunity we had to throw it away except for COlorado we tried to throw it away. Well 40 minutes of crappy offense in the CCG, fumbles and interceptions, bad decisions and bad plays and we are now no longer in control of our own destiny.

We are in position to get screwed in the ass becaue we dropped our drawers and bent over. If somebody is trying to ass fuck you you stand up and knock the shit out of them. You don't bend over and say please treat me nice and then get pissed off because they don't.

Exorb I agree with you 100%. I am Husker through and through and think Pelini is the right man for this job but I said it before and I say it again, I will not wear the rose colored glasses. We have severe problems on offense and Pelini is the head coach and needs to step up and take care of them.

He has said publicly that he is hands off with the offense.. Well he better get hands on and he better do it fast. Our offense has had severe issues for years and they are getting worse. We had a better offense when Callahan was in place. I hate to say it but it is true. I can ask no more for our defense we are top ten, but if we are ever going to rise above mediocrity Pelini needs to fix this offense by putting in place the peersonnel who have the capability to do it.

If I failed at my job year after year I would not have a job and if my manger tried to keep me neither of us would have a job.

It is time for Pelini to step up. He is not only a defensive coach he is a head coach and is responsible for every aspect of the team.

Go Big Red!

I am worried we might lose this game. We have all seen what Nebraska does when they don't come to play. Well how do you get a team up that has just had a horribly dissapointing loss and now have to play a team they steamrolled earlier in the year and have to play again early next year. That is 3 times in a 365 day time period. I am just worried we play like we should roll them.

Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl — Nebraska vs. Washington

Dec. 30, 10 p.m., San Diego

* Booooooooo. We did this already, and it sucked. Nebraska embarrassed Washington 56-21 in Seattle and turned Jake Locker from a first overall pick to possibly out of the first round with a 4-of-20, 71-yard, one touchdown, two interception performance. If this isn't another Nebraska blowout, be ecstatic.

+1 on this. I agree on all points of this arguement.

Callahan got fired because he wouldn't fire Cosgrove.
