Man, this Stone-Stastny-Pacioretty line looks unstoppable right now.

I mentioned that. OkayJoe with the no-no on Nosek. Might be calling a call from the DOPeS on that one.
After the Kadri hit the DOPeS had a hearing scheduled before the game even ended.Joe with the no-no on Nosek. Might be calling a call from the DOPeS on that one.

I can't understand it at all from Winnipeg's standpoint but I've grown more understanding of Calgary's reasoning. Valimaki does seem like a good D prospect, even if he's not up there with Brannstrom, and their defence is aging out - Gio is superhuman but Brodie and Hamonic are both pushing 30, both UFA after next season and having a ready-made replacement for at least one of them is probably something you can't afford to move.Yeah but Stone wasn't worth Jack Roslovic (WPG) or Jussi Valimaki (CGY) apparently. LOL.
For what it's worth I think the Sens got a better prospect than either of those guys, so I'm just fine with the Flames and Jets cheaping out on their offers for Stoner.
But man it is heartbreaking to watch that guy tearing it up for another team. He's probably the best two-way winger in the NHL and a real NHL owner would never have let him get away.

Meanwhile, they hit paydirt once already up front with Lindholm. Tkachuk is only going to get better, Sam Bennett's...something...still (and hey, 3 pts so far this postseason!). Combine that with the fact their cap situation next season is tight and I can understand passing on Stone even as a rental at that price.
It is.Just watching the replay from last night, that was a impressive number of hats that hit the ice on Stone's third goal of the night. I think it's safe to say that hockey is a big hit in Vegas.
And that's fair. I mean, I bet even in Tampa right now there are people wondering why they didn't just cash in a chip or two from that god damn talent farm they're running there and go after Stone themselves. If Calgary goes out and then next season is a much tougher slog than this one was you know you'll be hearing Greg Buttons yelling about it to a vending machine.Meh. I understand all that but Gio is going to be 36 on opening night next year and he doesn't play a soft game. His game could conceivably fall off a cliff next year, the Flames goaltending picture won't be any clearer next year and they have some other pretty good young D (Kylington, Andersson). It's certainly a tough call but at some point you have to go for it. You make the money work later.
We'll see. Hopefully the Flamers play great and win the Cup without Stone. If they somehow go out to Colorado though there will be a lot of second guessing.
Shouldn't let things like that go
Angry Joe is orneryI’ve stood up for some of Jumbo’s antics in the past but he’s a diver and is fond of the occasional cheap shot. Give him a game or two, it won’t really effect the series unless Jones can suddenly find his game anyway.
Also I haven’t seen the incident. Just in case it was worse than the game of two I suggested. Lol.
