Watched many hockey cup series over many years. Besides gm 7, let's not forget there was a huge series comeback too.
I'm going to have to think long & hard to recall a comeback in this fashion & level.

But if you're going to continue the whine about the major penalty, you're not facing reality IMHO. You choked on a 3-1 series lead & allowed it to run 7 games. Then to allow 4 goals during one 5 minute penalty with 10 minutes left in game 7 with a 3-0 lead. Sorry guys, that major isn't the major problem here.

Yeah, you gotta find a way to have a better penalty kill. Hell, the Sharks won the previous game on a shorthanded goal. At some point, the players have to put it on themselves and not blame that call.

Sharks fan here. Great comeback last night. Not sure the call warranted a major. Still you're a pro hockey team, you don't blow 3-1 series leads nor do you give up 4 goals in the 3rd period of a Game 7.

The story being told now is that the officials believed that Eakin had clipped Pavelski up high, because they saw the blood on the ice. Seems like a cop-out.

From high school onwards, it's common to check or lock up the opposing center after the face-off. Pavelski's off-balance and it's clear while he and Stastny double-team him, the fall to the ice is what caused the damage.

Well, I was definitely wrong, on first glance initially I thought it was worthy of a 5 minute major as I thought Eakin did cross-check Pavelski in the face, but it was in the chest and the subsequent contact with Stastny with Pavelski being off-balance resulted in the bad cut.
