I meant a steal in that draft. Carrier was not a mistake a that time we had nobody. Plus he showed promise but he might be out next year as well b/c of the torn acl. Goldsten contract could be interesting in the offseason he is making big money. We might want to rework that deal. There was no point in keeping KAi he proved that he cant kick off and was unreliable at long FG's.

Nobody bitched about the pick in round 3...nobody. Most thought it was a steal in round 3. Had it been in round 2, some would have bitched but I bet more people bitched about Murphy in round 2 than would have bitched about Moses in round 2.

Carrier was a mistake. Carrier was undrafted and had nine catches in his career before coming here. If Reed, Paul, and Paulson are healthy, he is our fourth best TE. Yes, we were in a pinch but Alex Smith was still out there and at least he has experience in the system. Had it been a seventh rounder, sure...no problem. It was a fifth, so it does matter. Answer his honestly, was he worth the fifth rounder we gave up? The answer should be no and therefore it was a mistake.

Kai made 89% of his FGs in 2014. We cut him in 2015. Do you think his leg could develop over a couple of years with the drugs NFL players take? It worked out but my point stands...we need to stick with a kicker longer than a year or two and allow them to develop. Would anybody here have liked to keep David Akers? Just saying.

I took a lot of heat when we took Moses in round 3. I was not on board with the Murphy pick. You have to remember Carrier is young so the draft pick had to be decent for the 49ers to get rid of him. I agree If Reed and Paul were healthy we wouldn't have done it but we were in a bind at the time. It sucks that he took a major injury.

There was no upside to Kai. That is why I wanted him out so bad. He missed some big kicks. Short FG's when he was here in the 2014 and early in 2015 season. Hopkins has upside b/c he can kickoff and shows the ability to kick the 55 yard FG. Kai had none of these traits so he had to go. Yes we should of keep Akers. Why? b/c of his strong leg. But that is ancient history now.

Don't want to go back in time since basically all of the Redskins mistakes led them to the current regime which is a very, very good thing & may eventually lead to a SB. However - I am extremely pleased with the current kicker & am always amazed with his deep kickoffs. I see no way that Forbath could ever match this.

If over the next few seasons the major thing that we bitch about is a wasted 5th round pick then I will be very, very happy. This is nothing compared to previous mistakes of past regimes (RG3 trade, AH signing, McNabb trade, B. Smith/Deion signings, etc, etc).

lol. true. Hey The Organization did what they had to do to get RG3. It didn't work out. Lucky we drafted KC in that same draft. Its on RG3 that he didn't pan out not this organization. This organization gave him every benefit of the doubt to succeed but the bottom line is that he was not better than KC nor he will never be better than KC.

Oh no - don't get me wrong. I was on board with the RG3 trade & it didn't work out for a number of reasons. I am just pointing out that in hindsight past Redskins regimes look pretty bad overall. The current FO should do well, but any FO will have its share of mistakes. If the mistakes are minimal (blowing a few mid round picks) then we should be a happy fan base over the next several years.

Hopkins has been huge. I argued we should have kept Gano. I argued we should have kept Kai. I will argue we should keep Hopkins. You need to stick with a kicker and let them grow just like every other position.
Between Novak, suishim(?), Gano I too am tired of watching kickers suck in DC only to go on kick well for somebody else. Remember they cut David Akers 1 game into preseason and he went on to a great career.

I don't think Murphy has been a bust. He was a good run stopper last year, and has slightly improved as a pass rusher this year.
