But, ya know, a lot of teams do this crap.

The marketing push is one thing (I've commented on here how the Rangers need to reel it in this year), but the lead that some Royals players have is absurd. Royals fans, for whatever reason, have gone insane with the voting.

As long as any teams are doing it they all have to if their guys are to have a chance. They should make it much harder to vote like it was in the 70s or else ensure that everyone only gets one vote. I remember having to go to the local Skillern's drug store to get a ballot from the Gillette display if I wanted to vote. lol

I agree with ya. Empathize with ya, even more. Because it ain't gonna happen ever again.

And how does a town like KC - which gets no respect and never has - going to compete in "voting among fans" with the fucking Yankees/Dodgers/Red Sox, etc can wear em out with quantity.

Am pushing all the KCR and LAA guys I can so they lose the week off. Ideally entire TEX roster gets the week off. AS game is a joke. Haven't watched it in years.

Matt Harrison is having a rough go of it tonight early on. Through 3 innings he has given up 3 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk. Only 1 strikeout so far.

Rua playing 3B tonight.

No, not that I have seen.

Through 5 innings now he has given up 8 hits and 2 walks and 6 runs. 2 strikeouts. 54 out of 86 pitches were strikes. Luke Jackson is replacing him to start the 6th.

If the velocity is there and he feels good, I'm not too worried about results.

Yeah, hopefully he is working on things and isn't worried about results. He did get good results the first time out though. Looking forward to finding out about velocity.

I know some people don't care or think it's too early, but White sox are ahead of the Astros 3-1 right now. I think if the team can stay close and get to the all star break, we would have a good chance to do something with all of the help coming back and 13 games head to head against the Astros in the second half.

I don't think the Astros are going to be the team to beat. Their unsustainable numbers are starting to catch up to them. I hope we don't make a desperation move in an attempt to have a shot at making the playoffs this year and take away from the future.

Amazing that we've gone from wondering how much selling they'd do to worrying how much buying they'll do.

@Evan_P_Grant: Holland had follow up MRI on Friday, continued progress. But another in 2 weeks. Won't throw off a mound until then.

Some day that boy's gonna pitch.

I was afraid of that. His injury really worries me.

An MRI exam on the left shoulder of Derek Holland revealed continued improvement, but with the Rangers taking a conservative approach on his recovery, he will not throw off a mound for at least two more weeks.

Holland, recovering from a subscapular strain in the shoulder, will have another MRI on June 19 before the Rangers determine the next step. In the meantime, he is playing catch from about 90 feet.

The schedule likely means that Holland would not be ready to join the Rangers until the end of July at the earliest.

So he's right on schedule.

Have always worried more about buying and paying too much in the way of prospects. Selling 'expiring' talent at the deadline and getting prospects back is great.

That Soria trade looks brilliant.
