He usually doesn't come through in close games or when the rangers are slightly behind and need a big hit. Main reason I don't want him on the team next year.

Disagree. The first two guys reach with well-hit singles an you've got a reliever who is struggling to get outs. No need to give him a free out, especially with a hitter who strikes out a lot up next. Elvis is a solid contact hitter and I would rather take the chance he singles than just give him up.
