Jordan Reed (Records)- On what was his third catch in Sunday’s game, Jordan Reed hauled in the 300th regular-season reception of his career. Reed accomplished this feat in just 59 games, which is the second fewest number of games needed to hit this mark by a tight end in NFL history (Kellen Winslow did it in 57 games) and the fewest number of games needed to do so by any player in Redskins history (Gary Clark did it in 66 games).

Those numbers don’t even do Reed justice, though. Only 12 players since 1950 have reached the 300-catch milestone in fewer games. I’ll let you check out the list for yourself, but I’ll add that at least half of those 12 players will probably end up in the Hall of Fame when all is said and done.

imagine what he could do if he had been healthy

It is hard to tell how much the change in QBs has hurt him. It is hard to tell how much DJax and Pierre not being here have affected him.

I heard Smith do an interview today where he said "no, I don't think I have been missing any open receivers" or something to that effect. HUH??? There are volumes of tape in 7 weeks that say that is not true. I would rather see him say, yes I have missed some guys but we will get better at this.

Smith really said that! So not only is he a shitty QB. He's in denial about being a shitty QB.

He did say that, I used quotes which I probably shouldn't have but it was a similar comment. He did follow that up by saying he has to get better. My reaction after hearing was WTF, there are videos everyone showing wide open receivers he didn't bother to try and throw to.

I think that Smith touches on this at various pts from the 4:20 to the 10:20 mark of this clip. I think he pretty much acknowledges that he shares the blame w/ others for some of the misses & this is also due to them not having played together long enough (especially w/ injury issues for some).

Now he did mention that he doesn't believe that he is being too cautious & that is not impacting things (& you can certainly debate that), but I don't think that he is holding himself blameless in all of this. I think that folks are reading way too much into this.

I definitely think that Smith has been subpar & needs to step things up, but I don't think that he is the type who would throw teammates under the bus (ala RG3) or believe that he is not at fault on a lot of this. Beyond that I don't really care how he feels - the bottom line is that he either corrects some of these issues or he doesn't. If he doesn't for the rest of this season & beyond then they need to start evaluating their options moving fwd. We will see.
