He dropped a potential TD thrown his way after his whetever you want to cal it on the sideline - maybe you're referencing that?

I'm a big fan of Dez, but I hated watching that yesterday. Not a good look for Dez, IMO.

I could be wrong, too. Maybe he was calling out coverage?

That should have been PI on that play. I would not consider that a drop. The defender had his hands all over Dez's arms preventing him from catching it.

The dropped TD is exactly what I'm talking about. Again no issue with him asking for the ball, I want him wanting the ball every play as long as his voice doesn't become a distraction. I don't think it has at this point.

From memory and not seeing a replay again...I can't fault him for that "drop" in the end zone at all. Yeah, it was a great throw and yeah it hit him right on his hands, but it looked to me like the ball disappeared from his view as it went behind the corner and then he probably saw it again at the last second while in mid-dive. Not easy to do with a helmet on. With those big mitts he certainly could have made the play, but IMO that was a really hard catch and I think if they played it back a couple of times that would have been more evident.

The crazy thing about the Switzer play is I have seen it before. Some of the older fans may remember. Opening game of 1993 in RFK on Monday night, the Emmittless Cowboys lost to the Skins. In that game we kicked off to a great player- Brian Mitchell- and for some reason he took a knee on the 1 yard line. I guess the rules may have changed since then, because he didn't fare as well as Switzer did yesterday. Kenny Gant aka The Shark , leveled his ass. Dan Dierdorf couldn't believe it. I remember him saying it was the dumbest play he had ever seen. Of course the Skins drove it 99 yards for a TD and killed us that game.

Yeah, WTF was that???

Someone had a funny quote on the NFL Board:
"I think Switzer is taking this whole kneeling thing a little too far":pound:

did Mitchell think he was in the end zone?

Yes, he had to. I've looked for it on YouTube. No luck

4 mins left in the game.
Skins are only down TD
He catches it on the 8th yard line and it's pouring rain ..takes a knee on the 14th.

I think that is what he meant to do ...Honestly, it was not the dumbest thing he could have done.

Yes I saw that one. I meant the Brian Mitchell one where he took a knee on the one and got blasted. I couldn't find it on YouTube. I thought Aikman may mention it after the Switzer play but he may have forgotten it.

I believe you're talking about Brian Westbrook, who broke off a long run, and instead of going in for another TD decided to kneel at the 1 yard line. The Eagles had the game in hand, and instead of padding his stats, Westbrook made the smartest play available to him. Instead of allowing the other team the ball back, and exposing more players to injury, Westbrook sat on it, and the Eagles went into victory formation.

As far as I remember Westbrook only caught flack from fantasy football types. There was literally no reason to be mad at that play unless Westbrook was on your fantasy team - as an aside, these types of dumb fan emotions is one of the reasons I quit playing FF.

The Switzer play was not really similar at all. That said, I wasn't too upset with Switzer, it didn't look like his blockers were giving much effort in front of him. Still, Switzer needs to return that ball.

- just look at the title of this video! :L

I havent seen too much of Switzer but he doesnt look like a very good return guy in what I've seen. He looks slow and doesnt have that burst. I remember Maclin was the number one rate return guy in the draft and he was terrible at it in the pros.

I actually think he is really good at it if he can catch the ball. Some guys just have a knack for it. He has been close a couple of times.

I have always wondered though if u fair caught every ball and never let it hit the ground and roll, would you come out positive. So many hidden yards are given up when they let the ball hit or commit a penalty.

I dont know... cause like I said I havent watched much of him but he sure aint Devin Hester. We took the other WR from NC in the draft and he is becoming a huge fan favorite. He rides his bike to practice and has made some crucial catches this season, especially the 64 yard TD vs the Skins. But he is more of a special teams ace and the opposite of Switzer in size (6'4)

PR stats are so skewed. I could care less about an average. For example, he caught one the last game and stepped out of bounds with his first step. That goes as a return and not a FC. 8 returns is a very small sample size. He may not be worth a shit. I wish he would catch the ball more. When he does catch it though he has a knack for making the first guy miss.
