Lets all think about last year when Pot Roast was here. What did he do? Nothing. Been there, done that. If we are just throwing bodies out there, throw the young guys in. Maybe they learn something and can develop. If not, we know sooner rather than later.

Most of his problems last year was he had gotten too big and was having cluster headaches

I have never really been a fan of the one year prove it deal. Especially for a guy that has not been in your system. I dont care what job it is, it takes time to settle in. In a job like the NFL, where you really only have a 7 month work window, it usually takes guys two or more years to adjust and fit in.

Pot roast is no UDFA. He has been in the league long enough that his production history is known. He is not the answer unless we have injuries and are desperate. He is a NT, not a QB or WR. He knows what is job is in most all systems. Hold the middle of the line, eat up space and occupy blockers. Not get pushed back, which happened with way too much frequency last year. He has put on over 30 lbs of fat since last year, he is out of shape. Just pass.

That wasnt meant to say we should or shouldnt resign him. More to say that the idea of a one year prove it type deal rarely works out. Sure you can know the basics of the job, but just like if you went from Company A as a network admin, to Company B doing the same thing... its going to take time to get comfortable in the job. Because even though you are doing the same job, how the new company wants things done is likely going to be a little different than your last place.

why not try out rookie free agents

Hard to believe of all the the defensive lineman dropped from teams during the final cuts this year there's no one thats equal to the out of shape, over the hill players the Redskins drag in for a look.

Well skins just released another PS player. Looks like some kind of move is coming. Maybe Lanier or new S Evans back to PS and one of these 2 to the 53:noidea:

When his firing back is insisting he's 35 lbs lighter than last year and still doesn't say how much he weighs, we're kinda left to conclude that he was a lot more than 35 lbs overweight last year. Good luck to him.

good to keep options open. We know what he brings and he's there if needed.
