Aside from that, this is huge. London Fletcher was also signed away from Buffalo, and Brown's probably more talented. He was an absolute stud coming out of college, and last season finally played up to his ability. And he grew up in MD. Skins absolutely needed a stud in their front 7, and I think... they got him.

Its a good pickup... but lets not act like we were his first choice Dean. Its a month into FA and Bruce Allen has made three good signings, and two average signings. Oh yea of the lets wait till free agency and the draft are over and then decide... now you are proclaiming the off season a success??

Skins have never had problems signing free agents. Players have known the Skins pay well; maybe not smartly.

So who's getting cut? Or... are they actually making a long term deal with Cousins and lowering his 2017 cap hit?

IM not. Im saying a month into free agency we sign him. He was interested in going to other teams, he came here because... we paid him more. But looking at where he was trying to sign, we were not his first, second or third choice.

I might have spoken too soon about re-doing mocks. Apparently it's just a 1 year deal. Can't say I'm crazy about these 1 year deals, but 1 year's better than nothing. The odd thing here is - he signed last year with Buffalo for 1 year - so since he had a Pro Bowl year, shouldn't he be getting a big long-term contract? Why would no other team offer him more than 1 year? And supposedly just for around 4.5 mil. Seems very odd.

The skins likely don't want to put big money in a one year wonder, when they have some serious cuts and re-signings to figure out. Also, if Brown has another big year -- I'm almost sure a team looking for an ILB will overpay for him.

Yeah, you're right. They picked Ragland (who I thought was overrated), and he tore his ACL. And Brown was signed for only 1.25 mil last year, so this is a big increase for him. Ok, making sense now. I still think Brown's a stud, but I can see why the view is that he's got more to prove.
