#2 is never going to happen. IF I am SM (unless I want KC gone) no matter what the offer, my response to any team is, You are going to owe me 2 1sts. Now I may actually match an offer, but if i want the player, I want to discourage any offer sheets being submitted.

That is why I think the 49ers offer will be in the 80-90m range.

I shit you not, you are like a 5 year old with ADD on a sugar high.

Why on earth would the Niners offer $90M AND give up two first rounders with no assurance that the Skins wouldnt simply match the offer??

Answer.. .they wouldnt. Kyle can afford to wait a year if the Skins play Cousins under the tag. Washington CANT afford to let him walk for nothing.

b/c they know the skins wouldnt not match there offer. If they did they would of already made a long term deal for him.

So they cant offer Kc 65M b/c they know the Skins will match it. So the 49ers will make a crazy offer lets say 85M and give us 2 firsts. If that happened I say goodbye KC.

Again.. is that something YOU would do??

News flash..... the NIners are in rebuild mode. They can afford to wait a year to get Cousins without giving up two first rounders.

The Redskins how ever need to shit or get off the pot. Because if Cousins plays on the tag this year... next year he walks... with NO compensation.

cmon man the 49ers have to know that they have to make an atleast 80m offer so the SKins wont consider matching. they are not going to get away with an offer in the 60's.

Once again I will point out, the Redskins are not in a position to play hardball. If SM says two firsts or nothing else.... the Niners can afford to wait a year. Washington cant. We either need to sign him long term, take less than two first rounders for him. Or run the risk of getting NOTHING in return for him.

Those are our options.

Add to it the fact that if Cousins plays this year on the tag.... you best believe we are drafting a QB with one of our first two picks. Because if Cousins plays on the tag this year, he wont be back in 2018.

If other teams come into the mix then we can play hardball. but if KS really wants him and offer KC 80Mg and gives up two first rounders, I believe KC is gone. I know you guys don't think it will happen but I blevie 65m wont be enough for the Redskins to let him go.

We are talking about an OC who has made EVERY QB he has worked with look good. I think you over estimate his desperation for Cousins. A Head Coach in his first year is NOT going to drop two first rounders AND $80M plus on a QB that he can simply wait a year to get.

Cousins agent is NOT going to let him take offers from teams like the Brown.... maybe the Jets. But some how i think you would feel slighted if we ONLY got the #6 pick for Cousins.

There is no guarantee that KS will get him in 2018 that is why he would want to act now.

Again... stop thinking like the kid who is going to get the fancy toys for something you dont really want.

If you are Kirks Agent, are you honestly going to let your client take a contract from the Browns?? If you are Cousins, do you even want to talk to the Browns??

Who said Browns? The Bears, Bills, and Jets are also interested.

No, we have another option. We make KC aware that another team is interested and what they had offered, helping to set his market value and use that info to ink him to a long term deal. For if we haven't done so by then its only because the 2 sides disagree as to his market value. This helps both sides understand what it may be and use it accordingly.

I'm wondering if this is simply a play by the Redskins to get other teams to set the market. I mean if the price is 2 firsts plus the deal the offers will be lower right? So then they can have the other teams do their negotiating for them and simply match rather than paying whatever it takes.

At least this is my hope.

Right this is why I like the nonexclusive tag. Let the other teams have a bidding war. If it gets to 80mg we take the 2 first round picks.

Again... lets look at it like this. Cousins doesnt HAVE to talk to any other teams while he is under the tag. Personally i think if they tag him, he signs it right away. Giving the Skins two options.... sign him long term, or watch him walk next year. Now he MIGHT talk to other teams. But how many times have we seen the Redskins show interest in players/coaches and those individuals say... no thanks.

Things we know....

If the Skins tag Kirk.. he can either sign it right off and make the Skins either sign him long term or watch him walk.

Kirk could talk to other teams, bu just because the Browns make him an offer sheet, he does not have to sign it. And seriously.... aside from the Niners.. who else needs a QB that Kirk would want to sign with??

The Jets, Broncos, maybe the BIlls.

Some how I think if the Broncos swooped in and did the deal, Dean would be majorly pissed to ONLY get the #20 pick this year, and likely a #25 next year.

OK Dean you win... I hope the Broncos make him an offer sheet and give us the two first rounders.

The Bears and 49ers could drive up the offers.

But again... would YOU do that?? All these ideas where teams will just bend over or will do the negotiating for us are unrealistic and we all know it. If you know its going to cost you two firsts, why make a deal the other team can just match?? Why do their work for them in essence?? You dont even hand Cousins an offer sheet unless you have been assured the Skins wont match it. So much like the Bailey deal... you have agreed on trade compensation before you even think about handing Cousins an offer sheet.
