SO the looming question becomes, how do we keep 4 RBs in light of the fact that Jones and Thompson are nursing injuries right now??
Mack making it tuff
Indeed. Been a long time waiting for the team to be in this situation.Having guys you have to stress over cutting is a good problem to have.
There's some real speculation that Reiter makes the 53 from Ben StandigEveryone talked about how good the RB's looked, which makes sense because we needed someone to step up there, but what about the center who did a great job in helping them gain those yards? Has anyone talked about Austin Reiter? Scot picked him in the 7th round last year. He needed a year on the taxi squad to get bigger and smarter - which he did. There's no doubt he has the size and strength for the position. And he's performed when given the chance - even if it was against Minny scrubs. With obvious questions about Lich and Long (not their **** names), I'd like to see Reiter gradually moved into the roll of starting center and see how he holds up. Cooley's said that Lich is probably better at guard - despite his lack of size. Lich can be a jack of all trades backup, and Long can focus at guard. Yes?
Agreed - though that's kinda harsh. But Paulson made the decision very easy by dropping I think 3 passes in the last preseason game. It's exciting to have Vernon Davis on the Skins... as the blocking TE. Gotta keep in mind that Derrick Carrier is on the PUP list - very clever of Carrier to get injured - but not too injured. By the time he's eligible to come off the list, one of our TE's is likely to be injured - and he sneaks onto the active roster.I have been pointing out for years that Paulson drops passes and his blocking is nothing special. When you are a slow TE who is supposed to be a blocking TE with sure hands you kind of need to actually be a good blocking TE with sure hands. Cut this clown already. He and Ribeye can car pool out of town together.
