Most of you don't want to believe this but....we will have the worst WR corps. going into the 2014 offseason. We have Garcon, Hankerson, Robinson and Williams. 3 of the 4 probably won't make another NFL roster. We need a minimum of 2 WRs, a starter opposite Garcon and a slot WR. Baldwin and Tate are better than anything we have outside of Garcon.
Its not that bad. If we take big WR in the draft (which id much rather do) to be the guy opposite Garcon plus have Reed out there then thats not too bad really. Hankerson and Robinson arent great but they arent useless either especially when no more than a #3. If we get that #2 I think the oline has to be focused on far more than WR.
That being said i hope we dont sign Decker, Edelman, Tate, Baldwin, Hester, McLuster and other returner WRs. Id be ok with Maclin, Nicks, and Britt on reasonable contracts that have little risk. i dont know if thats possible but its what im ok with.
You know...I was hating on Decker because he falls on the ground and drops passes for no reason but I think he will help Garcon thrive and will finally be our real#2. Tate is a real#2. McCluster is a great slot, backfield and KR/PR option. Britt is a great cheap dice roll. Nicks is risky...he wants to get paid but won't ever play a full season(i wouldn't take'em) Macklin may not be a good option either....
Its not that i think those players are bad its just that we could spend our money in much wiser areas. Im not paying Decker big money to be my #2. Same goes for Tate. I really believe that we could find a legit #1 WR in the draft.
As for Nicks i agree hes risky which is why Id only do that on a cheap risk free contract which it doesnt sound like hes likely to take.

Byrd should be an easy signing. 5 yrs 35 mil probably back end loaded.
I believe you, three would not make other teams and the fourth would be a #2 I just think that Robinson could be that slot guy once Moss is gone, We draft for a Number one, return Garcon back to his more familiar spot, then retool their backups.
besides Talib, Saffold should be high on the priority list. he can play G or OT we should get this guy. He is my #2 Fa we have to have. My top three are Talib, Saffold, and Mack. I don't think the Pats would give the money that talib wants to keep him. Talib is all about the money, I doubt he would take less to stay with the Pats. That is why I think we have a shot at him.
I know alot of us have been focusing on the ILBs coming up in the draft (Skov, Jones, Smallwood, and Borland in particular), but what if we fill that need in FA and only take one of these guise in the draft if its a total steal... some good options there in FA...
Redskins Offseason Focus - Linebacker - Hogs Haven
Donald Butler(25) - San Diego Chargers
Pat Angerer(26) - Indianapolis Colts
Brandon Spikes(26) - New England Patriots
Arthur Moats(25) - Buffalo Bills
Joe Mays(28) - Houston Texans
The ILB from Mich st could be grabbed in the 4th or 5 th round. I stay away from those FA ILb, we would have to overpay for mediocre talent. If we are going to overpay at least get someone with great talent.
yes I would overpay for talib b/c we know he is a top 5 cover guy in the nfl. Those FA ILB guys are avg at best and everyone usually gets paid in FA. We do have Robinson coming back, so a rookie is not forced to start assuming we sign back riley.
