Pretty impressed with the young guys, Perez, Beltre and Martin.

Very impressed. Beltre has no more options so it will be interesting to see how the rangers handle things when baker and ogando get back. If Beltre continues to perform then you can't very well place him on waivers. Somebody will snatch him up in a heartbeat. Frankly Murphy is the one who's seat should be hot right now. I just hope JD has the courage to make the unpopular move.

Believe E.Beltre is in his last option year. Lasts all year. Next year he is out of options. Were he out of options this year TEX would have had to DFA him to put him on a reserve assignment to AAA this season.
Beltre is out of options AFTER this season, they can send him up and down as much as they want this year
Man watching this o's and Yankees game it makes me sad that Chris Davis couldn't do this for us
Thanks for clearing that up. That doesn't change the fact that if he continues to perform he deserves Murphy's roster spot.

Speaking of guys who aren't hitting and unpopular moves. Elvis Andrus and his anemic slash lines needs to be moved out of the #2 hole. No way he should be hitting that high in the order.
Cruz was 2 for 4 yesterday as DH. Is Berkman ready to return? If not ... would not be surprised to see TEX leave Cruz as DH and use Murphy-E.Beltre-Martin as the OF for the opening of the SEA series.
By the way -- Baker is eligible to return last Friday. Wasn't able to watch the weekend games so there may have been conversation about his return. Logically, Chirinos goes back to AAA when Baker is activated. Would be good to have him available to face Saunders on Tue.
Baker is still having problems with the wrist and had to suspend hitting.
We fans often call for moves while management is slower to act if at all. Given the relationship between Wash and Elvis he may want EA to get out of his slump on his own in the #2 spot ... while the rest of us see the logic of probably moving Martin to #2 and Elvis to #8 ahead of E.Beltre.
#8-Andrus (R) #9-E.Beltre (L) #1-Kinsler (R) #2-Martin (L) ... think that is enough speed?
Wasn't it his thumb?
Yep, Wash will hang with him when he's hitting .140. I think they could still maintain a relationship if Elvis was hitting 8th or 9th. By the way, I don't see Elvis coming out of this funk any time soon if he doesn't become a little more selective at the plate. He's not exactly hitting in bad luck.
Walks are down slightly, and strikeouts are up slightly, line drive % is down a little, but the big difference IS the luck factor, his BABIP is .314 in his career, .332 last year and is .289 this year
Andrus is just off AND unlucky right now, bad combination for a guy who doesn't have the power to make up for it
A guy can have a couple of bad games and you can say he was unlucky, but a player who plays full time and has a BA in the .240's, that says more about bad habits and bad AB's than luck. JMO.
I know the first month of the season was a lot of bad luck, to compensate he might have gotten himself into some bad habits
