Wash would never make the move anyhow because ultimately we're talking about our new million dollar man, ego and his place on the team. As young as he is, he's still a veteran and will get the benefit of the doubt and the chance to play his way out of it. The bright side is that he's hitting near .300 over the last week and pulling more balls so maybe the bat speed is coming around.

Unfortunately, he's hitting way too many loopy flyballs when he's getting the ball up in the air, as opposed to the line drives he hit last year, and when he does hit the ball on a line it always seems to be right at somebody

Like I said, I think its a bad combination of bad habits and bad luck

The difference in his BB%, K% and his BABIP from years past certainly can account somewhat for his year last year and this year

Hopefully his recent luck is a sign he's actually coming out of it and not just a recent lucky streak

Did I? :noidea:

Hey, BTW, can someone tell me who has the best record in Major League Baseball?

Just curious ....

Today it is PIT I'm sure, but we don't play you until September (which by then you will probably be hoping for a WC spot) and we aren't in the same league. So :noidea:

I'm glad Pittsburgh has a product to be proud of, its only been 21 years... even in an era where its even easier to make the playoffs than ever

Enjoy it, but your team has some serious holes that will catch up with you eventually

Outside of McCutchen and Marte, no one hits for average and outside of Alvarez no one hits for power

Seems like a lot of smoke and mirrors

They do have one of the best coaches though, IMO. hated losing Clint.

TEX batting coach job was just a stepping stone back to a manager's job ... having taken the Rockies to the 2007 WS. After being part of the team that got TEX to its first WS ... he was definitely going to get another NL manager shot. PIT has responded well under his leadership ... with only $66mil payroll (up from $42mil when he took over) the team is playing well above expectations.
