He was on his way to a CG shutout

Nah. It was hot out and he was gassed. He lost control and didn't have movement. It was a good pull by Ron on that one.

Agreed. These two starts have been good for Perez and his confidence. If he was losing it there's no sense in leaving him in.

mclellan is by far the weakest link in that pen. im sure wash had his reasons to not use scheppers, but when mclellan entered the game i knew there was about a 75% chance the game was over. this guy had good numbers in st. louis, but he has gotten shelled here. not just soft singles or seeing eye ground balls. everything is a line drive off of him, mostly for extra bases. his days are numbered. once soria is back its bye bye mclellan! which im fine with

Scheppers reportedly asked wash for an extra day. Can't say I blame him as he's pitched 5 of the last 7 days. And you're right, once Soria gets back McClellan is gone.

Its one batter but Darvish's pitch sequence was very good to Choo, pounded the corners with fastballs and got him to chase a curveball down & OUT OF THE ZONE

Hope he stays with that approach till he needs to adjust.

Should've thrown that last pitch 5-6 pitches ago.

I really hope Profar can pick up left field quickly. Murphy just looks like he has no clue or plan at the plate. He just goes up there and hacks. He's being exposed as an everyday player. He's good in his role of getting 350-400 AB's a season

Unfortunately wash can't see that. He just loves Murphy's veteran status.

You can tell that the reds scouting report on Darvish said sit on the breaking pitch. He's got them a little off their game.

Engel's bat has a little life in it, he's also looking at more pitches than I thought he would

Maybe we'll see more of Martin in LF the next couple weeks
