Have to play a lot better n the defensive zone. Hope Abby being back next game helps out with the lines and our offense. I like being 1-1 after the first 2 games though. Plus I know I will be at game 5 in Tampa. Might as well call that game a lock for Detroit.

Whatever happens in this series if Tampa moves on they'll go nowhere. That team is too young and inexperienced. Before the playoffs started it seemed they could go far but not with all their turnovers and Stamkos disappearing. Not this year!

Well, it's not like any other defenseman was any better in game 2. He deserves a shot at redemption.

Personally, I'd gladly take ONE defenseman who is capable of getting a shot through from the point. I miss Lidstrom.

There are some things tonight that the game plan must focus on in order for the Wings to be successful. First and foremost is to get some of the pressure off of our goaltender. To do that some things must become a priority: 1) Get control of the neutral zone; 2) Improve the time of puck possession, especially in the Lightning zone (time on your side reduces the time in theirs); 3) We must win the majority of the faceoffs in our zone (being able to clear the D zone involves possession as a priority); 4) Limit the number of our players on one side of the ice when possession battles are on the wall (maintaining pressure on those without the puck will limit their chances in our end); 5) Keep traffic in front of their netminder, but limit those on the backend from pinching down too deep (their speed outweighs that of our dmen in almost every case); 6) Keep those in front of our netminder in close proximity with your sticks on the ice to limit the range of motion of their shots); 7) Prevent all stretch passes by the TB forwards; 8) Limit Smith's ice time; 8) Mimic Stamkos' diving skills a few times (he's got that skill down to a science); 8) Be as physical as possible to soften their speed advantage; 9) Keep the energy level up for the entire 60 minutes tonight (we'll have to match theirs for sure).
